Advantages: Nice tasting, great cold

Disadvantages: Horrible when warm

**Introduction**

I like to drink refreshing fruity drinks in the summer and one such drink I like is Lilt which is from the same people who make Coca Cola. I bought a bottle in Sainsbury's today after having not had the drink for a few months. Luckily I picked up a cold bottle which makes the taste even better just like it does for other soft drinks.

**Lilt**

Lilt has been going since 1975 and is available in three flavours but the most well known is the Pineapple and Grapefruit variety, you can also buy Lilt in Mandarin and Mango and also Banana and Peach flavour but I have never tried these ones and you are unlikely to find many of them in your local stores as they seem pretty rare.

**The Taste**

Lilt is one of my favourite fruit based soft drinks and is great ice cold on a hot summers day. The taste of the Pineapple and Grapefruit is sharp just as the actual fruits are and the drink leaves you with a refreshing taste although it is quite sugary compared to other fruit drinks on the market. A very nice tasting drink when very cold. Make sure it is cold as it doesnt taste very nice when warm.

COST & AVAILABILITY ~

These are the best prices I have seen without a sale on but you may find them more expensive depending on where you look and if they are stored in a fridge for the 2 litre bottles as they are often more expensive if kept in the fridge.

2 litre bottle = £1.35
500ml bottle = 0.85p to 0.95p
330ml can = From 0.38p (for a six pack) to 0.45p/0.50p for individual can
100ml can = 0.25p

**Overall**

A very nice drink indeed that only suffers due to the higher sugar content than usual. There is a Lilt Zero which deals with the sugar problem by taking it out. If you havent tried the drink yet then give it a go and test it against the normal lilt to see the difference in taste. A British drink with a totally tropical caribbean feel.

Summary: Lilt is nice

I adore this drink. I have tried the mandarin and mango but did not like it one bit. But your right they are very rare, I have never seen the banana and peach flavour.

I can never seem to find this as its continually sold out at my local supermarket. I agree though when its warm it just loses its whole concept.
