Advantages: Great Flavour. Not Many Similar Drinks. Not Too Sweet.

Disadvantages: Not As Good For You As Pineapple & Grapefruit Juice

According to Wikipedia, Lilt has been around since 1975 (I certainly remember it from the 80's) & is exclusive to the UK & Ireland. It's manufactured by Coca Cola & is a popular soft drink. There have been a total of 3 varieties. Pineapple & Grapefruit (the orginal Lilt & the one you still buy today. Mango & Mandarin which was around for a few years in the late 80's & early 90's. It was really nice but has been discontinued. There was also a Banana & Peach variety which has been discontinued & I never tried it.

This has always been one of the most popular fruit based soft drinks that you can buy. Until Tango Tropical it was the only pineapple flavoured soft drink you could buy. Because it is made by Coca Cola it doesn't taste cheap or artificial. It has a nice taste which is manly of pineapple & a slight flavour of grapefruit. It doesn't taste too sweet although like all carbonated soft drinks it does contain quite a bit of sugar.

I would recommend Lilt to anyone who want a fruit flavoured soft drink or an alternative to coke. It's good in both alcoholic & non alcoholic cocktails & can even be used to give fruit juice a bit of fizz.

Summary: A great soda that can be drunk alone or with other things.
