Advantages: Nice taste

Disadvantages: Very high in sugar

Having met up with a couple of my friends today, I decided to try this product instead of a hot drink as the weather was so nice and warm. I'm not really a fan of Iced tea, but thought this tasted rather nice.

The packaging:
This drink comes in a clear 500ml bottle with a red top and a bright orange label around it, much like the bottle many soft drinks such as sprite come in. On the label, there is the Lipton logo and the flavour of the tea (peach) is printed at the bottom with a picture of a couple of slices of the fruit. There is also a quick nutrtional guide on the front, with a more in-depth table being given on the back. The drink is described as being a 'still soft drink with tea extract and peach juice', but from scanning the ingredients list, there is only 0.14% black tea extract and peach juice from concentrate (0.1%) with the main ingredients being water and sugar. The label also makes the following three claims:
- No colours
- No preservatives
- No artificial sweetners

The taste:
The drink is a light, but murky brown colour which I suppose looks a bit like coca cola, but if presented in a glass, would not look very appetising. As soon as you take a sip you can taste the peach and, with the high amount of sugar added, this is a nice sweet taste. As for the black tea extract, I can't taste it per say, but you definietely get a slight kick from this so I guess you can sense the presence of the tea, even though you don't actually get the taste of it. There is no aftertaste with this drink, which is good, and I would describe this as a refreshing drink that is perfect for summer, though I think they went a bit overboard with the sugar as the sweetness did mean I couldn't actually finish a whole bottle of this.

The nutritional information:
As I mentioned above, this drink is very sweet and this would be due to the whopping 33.8g of sugar per 500ml which account for just under 40% of your daily intake. The amount of calories in the drink isn't too bad at 138 calories per bottle and there are 0g of fat so this would be suitable as part of a low-fat diet.

Overall, I think this is a nice-tasting, refreshing drink, but the amount of sugar in it is ridiculous and for this reason I wouldn't buy it very often.

Summary: A nice, but sugary drink

This is a long way from a 'good' iced tea drink but it's still refreshing when it's ice cold!
