So I was in my local 99p store and there was an offer on 2 bottles of 500ml lucozades for 99p. What with rushing around for Christmas and everything, I thought getting a couple of bottles of this in the cupboard would do me the world of good! Lucozade orange is an energy drink and this Lucozade comes under their "sport" range. Not that I do any sport, but sometimes working practically full time, running a household (mainly the 3 year old giving me trouble!) and generally having some kind of a social life takes a lot of work to keep up with and a little energy boost drink is always a bonus! It is a carbonated drink, which although hard to explain, has a distinct lucozade taste which I have found in all flavoured of lucozade carbonated beverages, but of course this has an aftertaste with a hint of orange flavour. It isn't such a strong orange flavour like a fanta or an orangeade or anything, but really more a subtle but authentic orange fruit flavour. It is not overly fizzy so as to produce gas bubbles or make me burp a lot but just the right subtle amount. For mental stimulation I do find this helps me keep my mind focused, and it is lovely and refreshing and actually is rather thirst quenching. Today when I was out doing last minute Christmas shopping, I was a bit weary having been up late the night before but I found this lucozade really good at keeping my energy levels up. In terms of content however, this drink is not the best! It is rather high in calories, and a whopping 68 grams of sugar. This is rather a lot of sugar to have, so definitely wise for me to drink this in moderation! Overall this is a nice carbonated beverage for a good pick me up and a boost of energy. It tastes nice, is refreshing and has a better orange flavour than most "orange flavoured" carbonated drinks out there. Due to the sugar content I have to knock off a star, but nevertheless I'd totally recommend this.
Lucozade Energy Orange is most definitely number one when it comes to my list of energy drinks that I like to have. I don't drink a lot of fizzy drinks but this is something I could have all the time. When I used to work long shifts in a clothes shop in the summers having this was a necessity to keep me going. I also like to take it to the cinema, just in case there is a long boring bit in the movie I need to stay awake in. It is just a good all round drink to have and the fact that it provides extra energy is a plus. TASTE First of all you will not even know that you are consuming an energy drink, unlike most other energy drinks. The orange flavour is extremely refreshing and I feel it adds to the uplifting feeling of the energy drink. However because of the orange flavour and the added energy ingredients, it is quite a sweet drink. But if you like orange then this is the way to go. PACKAGING It usually comes in bottle form, although I have also seen cans of Lucozade. You cannot fail to notice the bright orange packaging and lid with Lucozade in bright yellow writing. The bright colours add the energy that the drink brings to you. I prefer to buy this in multipacks as it is usually cheaper. Stores will often have this in promotion for 2 for £5. That's about 42p a bottle. I could also get a 6 pack with 2 free for £3, about 38p a bottle. So if you shop around you really can find it at a decent price. I would never buy a bottle on its own as they are far too overpriced.
Okay so the fact Lucozade is orange is no real comment on its quality, it just, is, isn't it!? I've been drinking Lucozade since a whee whipper-snapper and it remains a delicious, refreshing energy drink. On whether it gives you energy or not? well for me, it doesn't really feel like it does, it's just very refreshing as it whooshes down my throat slide! Personally, I love the orange flavoured Lucozade the best and only ever really drink this one or the squash one; the other flavours, particularly the original are pretty meh to me. The orange flavour has a fizzy tang/twang to it, and the gas in the bottles gives it a kick. Another good thing about Lucozade is that there seems to be quite a lot of liquid in each bottle in comparison to other, similarly expensive-ish drinks. I'd recommend orange Lucozade to anybody looking for delicious, refreshing drink on a summer day, or even somebody looking for a little kick of energy!
Great tasting drink, with the nice bonus its an energy drink ! Great thirst quencher, great cure for the dreaded hangover, and all round great product! I drink this most days at work, as I have a physically demanding job any little perk is needed, and it certainly helps! Its fairly cheap as far as energy drinks go! Red bull and relentless is way more expensive! Out of all the flavors of lucozade I would definitely choose orange, cherry is my second choice to this! Been out on a heavy night? Need a little lift in the morning? Then try this, along side a lucozade energy shot as well! You'll soon start feeling better! I would not recommend drinking this before bed as it may be obvious but it can make it harder to get to sleep due to it being an energy drink after all. Next time you get a beverage, make it a lucozade!
When I was in the law school, I used to have exams that run from 9 am till 1 pm (i.e. 4 hours!). Having an exam itself is already an exhausting process and having a 4-hour exam is no less tiring than running a marathon! After writing non-stop for a few hours, you will definitely need an energy boost and Lucozade Orange is definitely my savior at that time. Lucozade is one of the well known energy drinks that is said to be specially formulated with liquid glucose to deliver fast energy. They are available in many flavours but orange is by far my favourite. It normally comes in a bright orange glass bottle which is definitely something to brighten up myself during an exhausting exam. So does it really do its job? Yes. I do feel that I am more energetic quite quickly after having a sip of Lucozade. It helps me to freshen up and concentrate in the exam. I usually just take a sip or two as I don't want to drink too much and end up running to the washroom... time is very previous during an exam! In terms of the taste, I think that the orange flavour is a bit artificial and the drink itself is a bit too sweet too. I would recommend drinking this as an energy-booster when you are tired but not a daily drink.
Lucozade orange flavour energy drink is not so energetic as advertised on the packaging. This is probably the most popular of flavours out of all the Lucozade products. The drink itself orange flavoured and when you first open it tastes really nice and kind of bubbly and full of fizz which I like. When I close the lid and put it down or in my bag etc. After a while the more you open and close it the worse it starts to taste. I think that after you leave it for more than half an hour after its open its taste flat and more like syrup than Lucozade. I've never considered Lucozade as an energy drink although it is but it doesn't really give me any energy. However besides that I do think Lucozade is very different as an energy drink product with many of the others like Monster and Red Bull etc all tasting near enough the same. Try not to spill this on anything because I have spilt this a few times and noticed that it is very sticky if not wiped up straight away. The packaging for Lucozade orange flavour is really outstanding because it looks how you would expect the drink to taste. It has a bright orange label which matches the colour of the drink. There is are oranges at the bottom and explosions of bubbles all over the top and coming of the name 'Lucozade Energy'. I think the creators came up with a really convincing package for this drink because its really eye catching. The bottle is easy to open and has a twist and open lid. Its expiration date is always the part of the lid which comes off. So its easy to find but sometimes you will find its rubbed off abit. I've Multi pack bottle are always smaller that individual sale bottles which I see more and more drink are doing this as well. I dont really drink Lucozade Orange that often because im not really that big of fan of it I much prefer the original. I think that Lucozade Orange tastes best when it is fresh out the fridge and really cold. I find when its straight out the fridge is the time when its most refreshing. You can usually buy this is shops for about £1-1.20 for a 380ml bottle. Tesco do offers all the time where you can get a pack of 6 for 2 pounds which is a really good bargain.
Lucozade Energy is available in many different flavours, Orange is one of the most popular flavours, and one of the easy to find in store. Orange is one of my favourite flavours, yet I must admit Apple is my all time favourite. Lucozade Orange comes in amny different sized bottles and there is also a canned version avaliable. I tend to just buy whatever is on offer, from multipacks of smaller bottles, 500ml bottles to 1 litre bottles. In this case I had 1 litre bottle, which I picked up for £1. I have found that most of the time its cheaper to buy the larger bottles than the smaller ones. The orange flavour funnily enough has an orange label on the bottle with an orange screw cap, it is however very similar to the Lucozade original bottle, and although regular Lucozade drinkers will notice the difference, it wouldn't be obvious to someone trying it for the first time, so I would say double check which you pick up. The other flavours are alot more obvious. Lucozade was one of those things I was always given as a child when I was unwell. That still sticks with me today and whenever I feel a old coming I reach out for it. Infact this is the reason behind writting this review, as I have been off with a bad cold for a few days now. However I do also tend to drink lucozade when I'm feeling just a little low on energy and although its very rarely these days I drink this when I'm hungover, its the only thing that works for me. It has to be Orange though, I tried cherry once and it didn't go too well. Lucozade Orange is a sparkling orange glucose drink, which is designed for a energy boost and states on the bottle that it gives you a physical edge. It is best served chilled. I find it really nice over some ice. It also states on the bottle that Lucozade is not appropriate for replacing fluids lost through diarrhoea and it is not suitable for under 3s. The ingredients are as follows, Carbonated water, glucose fructose syrup (24%) orange juice from concentrate (5%) citric acid, preservatives (potassium sorbate, sodium bisulphite), Stabiliser (acalia gum) caffeine (0.012%) antioxidant (ascorbic acid) flavourings, colour (beta carotene) The nutrition information per 100ml is as follows Energy- 298kj (70kcal) Protein - trace Carbohydrate 17.2g of which sugars 13.8g Fat - nil Fibre - nil Sodium - trace I love lucozade and for me its a great pick me up, but as you cansee from the above information it does have some negatives. The main one being the high sugar and calorie content. The sugars in 1 250ml serving are a massive 38% of your guideline daily allowance. It's great as part of a balanced diet, but definitely a drink for just now and again and not an every day drink. It is recommended not to give to under 3s, but as a mother of a 3 year old, I wouldn't think about letting my son drink this till he was much older. It would be almost his whole gda of sugars in one drink. I have also found that especially with the larger bottles the juice left in the bottle goes flat really quickly, after one drink regardless of how tight you put the top back on. This means the juice left is not as enjoyable. I do enjoy the sweet taste of this lucozade but some people may find it just too sweet.
I love the original lucozade and drink it on a regular basis but I also like to try the different flavours now available for a change. One of the many flavours now available is orange. The orange lucozade comes in a variety of different sized bottles and even a can version. The most recent bottle that I purchased was the 500ml at a cost of £0.99. I think this is a fairly good price for this size bottle but if you look out for special offers you can often find multi-packs of individual bottles for a good price especially in Iceland. The drink itself is a sparkling orange glucose drink, and is designed to provide you with energy. This drink is very high in sugar and contains the following nutritional information per 250ml: 175 - Calories 34.5g - Sugar Fat - Nil Saturates - Nil Salt - Trace One of the things that I have noticed about the Orange flavoured lucozade is that it is not as fizzy as the original flavour. Also it tastes quite sticky and sweet, I know it contains lots of sugar but the original does not taste overly sweet like this does. You can taste the orange but it is a little weak in flavour and tastes more like a fizzy orange cordial with added sugar. It is actually made with 5% orange juice from concentrate but I find it hard to tell it is actual orange juice from the taste. I do still buy this lucozade if I need an energy boost and the other flavours are not available but it is never my first choice. I would say that it is still worth a try if you have not had it before but to me the original or lemon will always be my favourites.
Lucozade Orange is a thirst-quenching drink which is fantastic when you are feeling lethargic and need some energy and plus it tastes good as well. There are many different flavour available such as blackcurrant, cherry, apple etc alongside the original and orange flavour. I prefer Lucozade Orange (which tastes quite similar to orangeade but better) over Locozade Original as it tastes better and it tastes even more great when its been refrigerated. One of the advantages of this drink is that it is available in most if not all shops across the UK so it is very accessible. The disadvantage of this product is that when you drink too many Lucozade bottles frequently you can get sick of the taste. The price varies and it also depends on the bottle size that you buy (500ml or 100ml) and works out cheaper when you buy in a multi-pack for example the one that I am drinking now from a multi-pack says that its 65p for an individual bottle. I would recommend everyone to buy this product if they like orangeade as it is tastes similar.
My Mum and Dad always used to buy Lucozade original for me as a child, every time I was not feeling very well, in an attempt to get some liquid into me, containing glucose to give me a much needed energy boost. Lucozade Orange is very similar, but with a stronger orange flavouring, but still a product of pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline. Lucozade was pretty much the original energy drink, first created by a doctor for use in hospitals. Since then it has grown tremendously, and is now very popular with most sporting athletes. Lucozade claims to provide glucose which acts fast to refuel the body for physical activity. Lucozade Orange is a fizzy drink, orange in colour, and it is extremely refreshing. The taste of the drink is exactly what you expect from the name really - it tastes of orange, not a strong citrus orange, but more of a light and thirst quenching orange taste with a hint of syrup, glucose and caffeine in there as well. It is much nicer in taste than the original flavoured Lucozade, and I suspect the orange flavour would be easier to tempt children with than the original flavour if they are a little under the weather, and in need of an energy and glucose boosting drink such as Lucozade. The Packaging for Lucozade consists of a clear plastic recyclable bottle, with a plastic label on which is coloured mainly in orange. These bottles come in 3 sizes: 380 ml costing approx 80p 500 ml costing approx £1 1000 ml (1 litre) costing approx £2 These bottles are often sold individually, but there are multi packs also available, offering a discount for buying in bulk, and they are available in most supermarkets, newsagents, etc. Lucozade does also come in 330 ml recyclable aluminium cans too. Other flavours available in this range are: Original Apple Lemon Tropical Cherry ~~~ Nutritional info ~~~ Each 100 ml serving contains: Energy 70 Cal Protein Trace Carbohydrate 17.2g of which sugars 13.8g Fat Nil of which saturates Nil Fibre Nil Sodium Trace Ingredients are mainly carbonated water, Glucose Fructose Syrup (24%), and Orange Juice from Concentrate (5%), The drink does come with a couple of warnings, such as: Lucozade is not appropriate for replacing the fluid lost during diarrhea. Lucazade may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children. ~~~ Overall Opinion ~~~ Lucozade is a great tasting energy drink, which is very refreshing when served cold. I find it gives me a well needed boost when I feel a little tired. Lots of people I know often claim that lucozade is great as a hangover cure (I must try this out sometime!) The drink does contain a lot of sugar, and so ideally should only really be used in moderation if you value your teeth... Thanks for reading © L500589 2011
Lucozade energy is a great drink if you want a quick pick me up. It is quite effective in giving you a boost of energy. I really like the amount of fizziness it has, and although I feel its orange flavour is not what I necessarily want in an orange drink, it does have an appeal that makes you pick it up again off the shelf. The orange flavour cannot be compared to other fizzy orange drinks, so this is not the ideal drink for someone whose main reason for buying the drink is the orange flavour. If you are a student who needs to work later into the night, I think Lucozade Energy is a great choice, it will get you perky and ready to go. Whether or not this is healthy drink is another matter. It has 266 calories per 380 ml according to its label, and it had 52.4 grams of sugar. Whenever you drink it, you may be tempted to drink the whole 380ml bottle, as it is just convenient to drink it when you have already opened it and have it at hand. This is a lot of sugar to have, even if it is spread throughout a day, as you are likely going to get sugar from other food sources. It is a good drink for when you need it, but because of the sugar levels it is not ideal to have it too often. You could also consider having this drink if you are not feeling too well, as it does work as a pick me up for both tiredness and when you are ill. It is a good idea to keep it in the fridge if it is a particularly warm day as although it doesn't taste that bad warm, it is much better cold.
Lucozade is generally associated with illness or sports people, and is quite high in sugars as a result of the energy boost it gives you. The orange flavour is much sweeter than the original version, and is great to have when you're not feeling 100% or if you're really tired (or hungover!) Lucozade Orange immediately gives you more energy, and you feel better as you're sipping it. It's not the most natural tasting drink but is probably better for you than energy drinks as the main reason it's not good for you is sugar, not caffeine and artificial ingredients. As you'd expect, it tastes of orange, although there's something about this drink that makes it taste different to other orange drinks. It's very sweet tasting and refreshing. I think Lucozade is best drunk when you're either ill or recovering from illness, as in these instances you need the sugars to get your strength back. As long as it doesn't become a regular lunchtime favourite, I don't see the harm in drinking this.
As im sure with 99% of people reading this review you have at some time had a nightmare hangover and looked for ways to cure it, Fatty food, Sleep, Exercise or just getting your head down and dealing with it. I however turn to Lucozade orange. Full of flavour very very sweet even for me and full of glucoze that gives you enegry and cures that lathargic can't be bothered feeling that comes with having to much to drink. In actual fact this drink is also perfect to have at the beginning of a hard days work, just before exercise or as a pick me up during strenuous activities requiring concentration. Its full of Glucose (24%) and this is in simple terms the part of sugar your body takes into your blood and gives you added energy for a short time only. For extended energy you would need slow burning foods like pasta. The standard bottle size is 380ml and is full of flavour. There are cheap alternatives "explosade" from aldi being first one that springs to mind however like most cheaper alternatives there are sacrifices to the overall quaslity of the product. Lucozades is by far the better quality and all round product and is available at pretty muche every single newsagent and retail outlet that has a drinks fridge. ***The Boring Stuff*** This is the nutritional information per 380ml bottle Energy (kj) 1132 Protein (g) 0.1 Carbs (g) 65.4 Fat (g) Nil Sodium Trace Other information worth noting are that it has: Calories 266 (13% RDA) Sugars 52.4g (58% RDA) Salt 0.1g (2% RDA) ***What can be said about nutritional info*** Looking at the nutritional info for the first time to write this review and I must admit although I always known an energy drink such as this would be high in sugar content, too see that just one bottle is over HALF!! one days allowance of sugars is a shock to me, especially since ive had two today....ooops Im no weight watcher attendee or know any great detail about calories and what is alot and what is not but 13% of daily Calories seems to be reasonable to me especially considering the overall aim of this product is actually for aiding exercise therefore the calories gained should really be getting burned off as soon as they are put into the body. ***The Rest*** The Lucozed energy range has many other flavours that off top of my head include Cherry, Apple and original however this is my favourite mainly due to the nice after taste it leaves. It is a carbonated drink and very fizzy at that but refreshing. Created by Glaxosmithkline a massive company that is probably more well known for it's toothpastes and medical orientated products, this drink is usuallyu availabe just short of the £1 mark however in many places (like where i got mine from) they are specially marked at offer price of 79p. ***Contact them*** If you ever need to a) know more about the product or range or b) comment or complain there are a few ways to do so: Lucozade.com is one way or they have the following contact details for post and phone communication Customer relations GlaxoSmithKline FREEPOST TK2018 Brentford TW8 9GS Phone: 1850 508 509 ***Conclusion*** Its a tasty energy drink brimming with flavour and a much needed boost however also with Sugar. Be wary about how many you have as it would appear they will not do your insides the world of good and I best take note.
Taste * * * * It taste like orange although the orange taste is more like one you will find in orangeade although not quite as nasty and this fizzy orange drink doesn't leave a nasty after taste. Like all lucozade products this drink gives you that extra energy boost needed. Value for Money ? * * * * * * * * * Lucozade orange isn't bad value for money and it's frequently on offer so well worth stocking up on. It's ideal for when you're feeling ill or low on energy and is great to sip through out the day when you are too ill to leave your bed for water. Avalibility * * * * * * Lucozade orange is widely avalible in super markets, most corner shops and in some meal deals (although not many). It comes in 2l bottles, 500ml bottles and also in cans.
I always see this particular lucozade as being the original one. The orange on. In its iconic bottle and design, this is usually available in most shops and newsagents. This one is called lucozade energy and comes in original, orange, lemon, cherry, apple, tropical crush and blackcurrent. This has been made to give an extra boost when sugars are running low, from a variety of reasons. Whether it is through exercise or feeling under the weather its aim is to top up the glucose and provide a bit more energy to you. I like this one because of its taste, and it is created up by 5% of orange juice, the rest being flavours and colourings. However, its taste is fruity, and very sweet. As it is fizzy too it does last quite a while and does provide the extra energy. Nutritional Information --> Energy: 70kcal Protein: Trace Carbohydrate: 17.2 Fat: Nil . So I don't find this an unhealthy drink at all. Perfect to take to the gym. One of the best things about this drink it its price. It doesn't cost as much to buy as pepsi/coke do, and provides more energy too. There are a couple of different sizes available. These prices are from ASDA: For 380ml - 78p 500ml - £1.08 Box of 6 - £2 As this does use liquid glucose it isn't safe for some people, so it does need to be checked out before you drink it if you have certain circumstances. However, generally a lovely refreshing drink that really does give you some extra energy! Recommend.
Give your body fast energy during sport activity.
