Advantages: good value, good quality product and nice taste.

I've never realle been one for energy drinks like red bull or this, but I saw it in ASDA today on special offer and after my daughter nagged me a bit, I thought I would give it a try. In ASDA at the moment, you get six 380ml bottles for just £2.00 which I thought was brilliant value for the money. That multipack normally costs £3.50 so I was glad to try these at such a discount.

You can get lucozade in the original flavour, apple flavour, lime and the orange. My daughter has tried the original in the past but said that the orange has a much better taste which is why I bought that one from ASDA.

This drink is in an orange bottle that has 'Lucozade' in big bold yellow letters with the flavour at the bottom. You can tell the flavour easily enough anyway though because the apple flavoured bottle is green, the lemon is yellow, orange flavour is orange and the original is red. The lid is fairly big and is a normal screw on top that isn't as easy to lose as coke lids or other bottle tops because it isn't as small.

So the drink promises to give your body an energy surge during physical activity. I only really bought them for my daughter but I decided to have one because I was curious to try them. I wasn't too sure about it when I first opened it, It didn't smell very orangey like I'd thought it would, but it didn't have a nasty smell. The pop itself is fairly fizzy and is orange in colour. At first swig, it didn't taste like an ordinary orange pop like vimto, it had more to it like you could taste the glucose or something in it which was nice. I like the pop, and the fizziness meant it didn't have a flat and boring taste and it tasted refreshing and vitalising.

It did perk me up and I felt refreshed. I wouldn't say that I could have gone on to run a marathon, but I didn't feel as tired and worn out as I had done before I'd drunk the lucozade.

Carbonated Water , Glucose Syrup (25%) , Citric Acid , Lactic Acid , Flavouring , Preservatives (Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Bisulphite) , Caffeine (0.012%) , Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid) , Colour (Sunset Yellow) .

As you can see, the lucozade contains caffeine which is a stimulant to give you a boost and the glucose which is meant to be good for you. I can't comment too much on the ingredients, I never paid attention in chemistry or biology! =)

I also gave my daughter a bottle of this to take to her training where she go's through vigorous exercise regimes. She said "I felt more alert and awake after drinking this, I felt that I had more energy and didn't get so worn down by the exercise. Because It was fizzy, it isn't a great thirst quencher and it doesn't taste brilliant when it isn't really cold, because I didn't drink it all at once, I drank it over 2 hours so it was a bit warm and I didn't really like it then. Overall, I would say my performance was improved because of drinkin this. "

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this to others because it tastes good, isn't too expensive and does exactly what it says on the bottle. I liked it although would recommend you drink it cold if possible.
