Advantages: gives energy, tastes nice, inexpensive
Disadvantages: very sugary so bad for teeth
When I was a kid if you got ill you got lucozade. It came in glass bottles at the time, wrapped in orange cellophane like a gift! It was a treat really to make you feel better and it worked as such before you'd even taken a sip.
Nowadays it comes in plastic bottles and is hailed as "brain and body energy" which really translates to "sugar". It is very sugary and obviously if you use it for illness when you aren't eating much or anything this is quite useful. I always keep some in for such occasions so if I stop eating I can get a quick energy fix from sipping lucozade.
It is not appropriate for replacing lost fluids during a stomach bug however so don't use it for that. But it does give you a little bit of energy if you can't eat for whatever reason.
The taste cannot easily be described, I suspect there's some orange in there but I don't know what else, it also contains caffeine so another reason you get a bit of a buzz from it.
There are 70 calories per 100ml and it is very fizzy. The fizziness probably also helps if you are being sick as supposedly carbonated drinks help settle the stomach in this instance. I usually pay just over a pound for a 1 litre bottle so it's not terribly expensive either.
One downside to lucozade is the amount of sugar you get on your teeth which shouldn't be a problem if you only use it occasionally but if you were to drink it regularly you'd need to keep an eye on this aspect.
It's still a firm favourite with me if I get ill and can't eat, it provides enough sugar to get you past the woozy, feeling like you may faint stage and eases you back into eating without forcing the issue.
Summary: Lucozade does help you get back on your feet
