Advantages: Tasty and gives you with a kick start

Disadvantages: Drink only when needed. Its a quarter sugar!

My nan used to buy me a bottle of Lucozade when I was ill, but wasn't allowed it any other time when I was little. I remember is used to make me feel a little better even if it was all in my head as I loved the taste.
Nowadays, I tend to drink it on days when I feel under the weather but it's usually of my own doing! Yep, it's great hangover stuff!

I guess, unintentionally these things are what Lucozade was designed for, after all it's an energy drink. On the bottle it's claims are -
'Provides glucose which acts fast to refuel your body for physical activity' and to 'give a physical edge.' So great if you are run down or doing lots of sport.

Being an energy drink, the calorie count is a little scary, however remember, this isn't supposed to be guzzled down all the time! For a 380ml bottle you'll be consuming 266 calories and 33.1g of sugar. Also as a warning, if you do drink a lot of this stuff it tends to have a laxative effect! More reasons to drink it only when needed!

Taste wise, I love it. I have a very sweet tooth anyway, and it is sweet. The bright orange liquid is iconic of Lucozade and no other drink seems to have quite the same colour. If you don't know the taste, try it. It's one of those flavours that is unique, which is probably why it evokes such strong memories when I drink it.

As far as price goes, I think it's very reasonable compared to other energy drinks. I bought a standard small bottle recently from Wilkinson for 69p. The bottles are slightly smaller than that of the Cokes and Sprites etc at 380ml, but it's an adequate portion and good the price reflects this.

Overall, an excellent product that delivers what it promises and has stood the test of time. I hope it's on the shelves forever, as we all need a little extra energy now and again.
