Advantages: Energy in a bottle
Disadvantages: Cost
I first started drinking lucozade about 11 years ago when I was 14. Back then it came in glass bottles and wasnt as widely available in the supermarket as it is now. Since that time they have now began to experiment with new flavours such as apple, but I think the Original and Orange flavoured will always be the best.
It is a great energy drink, and ideal for using before, during or after physical excercise to give you that much needed energy boost and sugar fix. Being an energy drink though it is very high in both calories and glucose content and the typical values are 360kcal for a 500ml bottle, 0.2g of protein, carbohydrate 86g of which 69g are sugars, there is no fat content and a trace of sodium.
It is hard to describe the taste of lucozade as it has its own individual taste and isnt really similar to anything else on the market. Even the orange flavour, doesnt really taste very orangey, but either way it is very tasty and definitely one of my most favourite drinks.
Cost wise, it can be quite pricey, so I tend to look for offers on this product. Asda sometime offer 2 packs of 6 bottles for £4 as opposed to their individual pack price of £2.56. Tesco however, have recently raised their price of one six pack from £2.99 to £3.56 which I find very expensive. Alternatively you can purchase singular bottles at a varying price of between approximately 79p- £1.50 depending on where you purchase from for example a corner shop or a petrol station.
Overall I feel this is a great product, though wish it was a bit cheaper so that I could buy more of it!
Summary: A tasty, energy filled, refreshing drink!
