Strangely, Lucozade is actually recommended by a lot of sports professionals for its streamlined energy distribution. It appears that whilst it contains several heaped teaspoons of sugar in it (to say the least), the other benefits hugely mitigate this). The real key ingrediant that differentiates it from other energy drinks on the market is the addition of glucose, which, according to the bottle, "acts fast to refuel your body for physical activity", giving you an edge over the competition!

Drinking this is a nice change from the taurine-pumped energy drinks like Red Bull and Relentless that, whilst effective, make your teeth feel as though they're rotting from the second you drink them, and they're also very bad for you. That said, Lucozade is also packed full of other bad stuff - a 380ml bottle contains 266 calories and 33.1g of sugar - still, for those about to engage in some form of intense sport, it is extremely effect, as long as it's consumed in controlled bursts, and you don't guzzle three or four bottles a day!

It's a very sweet drink which would account for the absurd amount of sugar in this drink, and whilst it's only 380ml, there's enough sugar and energy packed in this little bottle that you really wouldn't want it to be any more voluminous!
