Advantages: Tastes great and gives you an energy boost
Disadvantages: Wifey guzzled them all!!!!
My wife absolutely adores Lucozade, but I find it can be quite expensive. A drink whose name goes hand in hand with the phrase 'quality energy giving drink', as far as I am concerned, Lucozade Energy is a registered trademark of the GlaxoSmithKline Group. Who are they? No idea, but what I do know is that Lucozade does the job.
It's essentially an energy giving drink that contains water, glucose syrup, citric acid, lactic acid, a host of flavourings and colourings, and an antioxidant. The energy levels for the drink are high, with a 380ml bottle giving you 266 calories and a sugar rush to boot. It's the glucose that does the energy boost bit, and the flavour is quite nice. It doesn't really have a particular flavouring, I guess it's unique in its slight tang, but refreshing nonetheless.
If you buy an individual bottle of lucozade, it usually costs somewhere in the region of 90p or £1 for a 500ml bottle. However, at the moment, Tesco are selling 6 x 380ml bottles in a pack for £1.71, which makes it less than 30p per bottle. I picked up a pack of these the other day. Needless to say, they have all gone, and I have managed to have only 1 and a half of them. The rest have been devoured by my wife.
However, she should be careful, as too much of it could act as a laxative, and they recommend you enjoy it as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle. Drinking a bottle of this a day when you're not used to it probably isn't so good for you, given that 25% of the drink is glucose syrup.
Ulytimately, it's a good product, and weighs in at cheaper than products such as Red Bull. They also do different flavours of it, and I must admit I quite like the orange flavour they do. I'll probably get another pack of these soon, but maybe I'll go for the orange ones - wifey doesn't particularly like them, so I'll guzzle them instead!
Summary: Great energy giving drink
