Lucozade Sport - How about Lucozade Leisure (Lucozade Sport)

Advantages: Great taste

Disadvantages: Doesn't help when playing sport

Lucozade Sport is pretty much my favourite drink in terms of thirst quenching taste, however, i really don't believe that it helps or improves sport performance. Yes, it supposedly can give you a little bit of energy or a pick-me-up, but i've always found that drinking any kind of Lucozade can make you feel bloated, especially if you drink it immediately before or during some kind of sport.
I myself play various sports, namely football and squash. I've always drank water before, during and after these sports to help rehydrate and refresh myself. Recently, i tried swapping water with Lucozade Sport, as i'd only ever drank it leisurely, and afterall, the drink is aimed at giving energy boosts to sportsmen.
I can honestly say that it had no greater effect than the water i'd previously been using.
In a way, it made me feel more full and bloated and prevented me from gaining an extra advantage. Maybe i was expecting miracles from a drink that tags itself as the 'drink for sportsmen', but after the way it's advertised, and not to mention the pricey sum of £1.10, i was left wondering what all the hype was about.
Give me good old fashioned water anyday.

So overall, it IS a great drink, great thirst quenching flavour, nice size and packaging and easy to physically drink in a social or leisurely situation. But for me, it fails to live up to the whole reason it is produced for - helping sportsmen.
