Advantages: rehydrate yourself when doing sport

Lucozade sport is an isotonic sports drink which is produced by the Pharmaceutical company,GlaxoSmithKline plc. Lucozade sport is part of a quite large Lucozade range which is a brand of energy and sports drink.

Lucozade Sport is an ideal drink for people who participate in sport and need a drink for hydration and to improve their performance.

Lucozade sport is described as a flavoured isotonic drink with sugars and sweeteners. I usually have the original orange flavour which tastes like a sweet orange squash type drink with a few more ingredients to give you that extra energy for taking part in sport. Other flavours include tropical, raspberry and mixed citrus.It is a drink proven to enhance physical endurance- keep you going when you are dehydrated or lacking energy.The drink is designed to give fuel to your muscles and allow you to do exercise and sport longer.

An isotonic drink is one which helps to replenish electrolytes. This allows for proper rehydration which is important in preventing or delaying fatigue during exercise. This is why Lucozade sport is probably more suited to someone who plays sport as it offers more than a normal drink.

The drink comes in 500ml bottles and have the distinct Lucozade logo on them. They are well packaged and are easy to carry around . They have a useful cap too. The cap is one you just flick up or down and suck on. This makes it easier to swallow especially if your on the go and running.

Buying an individual bottle will cost around £1 which is abit expensive but it would be cheaper to buy in bulk from a supermarket.

Lucozade Sport is the official drink of the FA and the FA Premier League. It is also a major sponsor of events, teams and athletes in the UK and Ireland including the Amateur Rowing Association (ARA), FA Premier League, FA Cup, England Rugby Football Union, England Football Team, The Republic Of Ireland Football Team, The London Marathon, parkrun, Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Damien Duff, and Jonny Wilkinson

I find that Lucozade is a great sports drink. I do however pefer slightly the taste of powerade. I think it is just a personal preference and not to do wth the quality and practical benefits of the drink. I do however use both drinks when I take part in sporting activities and I would recommend Lucozade for anyone who does like to do sport and exercise.
