Coffee Shouldn't Be In Bags (Lyons One Cup Fresh Ground Coffee)

Disadvantages: Tastes horrible and proper weak; The coffee has got a horrible sour taste

I got a sample of coffee bags from Lyons a few weeks ago but they looked horrible because the bag was so big but this morning we'd run out of coffee so I thought I might as well try one to see how good it worked. It's fresh coffee not instant and has been put into a big cheap looking tea bag and you just have to pour the water on it and let the bag stand for a few minutes to get what Lyons call a proper cup of coffee without going to the stress of getting the coffee machine out but that doesn't mean anything because I haven't got a coffee machine anyway and it's even quicker to use a good quality instant coffee!

The bags don't smell very stong when they are brewing and I knew it was going to be a weak cup of coffee and when I took the bag out and put a bit of milk in it didn't look strong enough for me so I put the second bag I'd been sent in and left that for a minute. It didn't do a lot of good and I the coffee you get when you've used this bag hasn't got a very nice taste because it's so weak and hasn't got any of the rich coffee flavour that I get with my instant coffee.

The bag looks horrible when you take it out of the cup as well because the coffee has swelled up in it and the bag is so big that it's gone all floppy and it made me feel a bit sick handling it.

I thought the coffee was horrible and didn't even drink the full mug because it was so tasteless that I poured it down the drain and had a cup of tea instead even though I'm not mad for tea. Lyons coffee is usually ok but this one isn't very nice and even though it's weak it's a bit harsh at the same time and has got a horrible sour flavour when you swallow it that isn't strong but it makes the coffee seem like it's more bitter than it is.

I don't know why anyone would want to buy these because the instant coffees taste loads better than this and if prefer fresh coffee then I reckon you'd have a coffee machine by now because of how cheap you can get them. I drink instant coffee because I think it's got a smoother flavour that most fresh coffees and beacuse I don't drink a lot of coffee I think fresh coffee is too strong for me usually and that's why I don't think Lyons have used proper fresh coffee in these bags because the flavour of them is so weak.

Summary: I Will Stay With Instant Coffee Because This Stuff Is Horrible
