Advantages: delicious, cheap, healthy

Disadvantages: messy!

Choosing a favourite drink is easy ~ smoothies! I dont mind if theyre top branded like Innocent, or store's own like Tescos, as long as theyre thick and fruity, theyre good for me! So when I discoverd the Mackies Smoothies in the freezers at tesco, Ijumped at the chance to try these ice lollies!

Packaging:
Th smoothies come in a cardboard box. On the front, you can see the mackies logo, and the words 'Smoothies' is written across the front. This straight away shows a promising product with its attractiv lettering. And thenyou notice the image of the smoothies themselves, a refreshing and delicious image, you are lured in even more!

First impressions:
When you open uo the packet you will find thre long cone shapes. They are made of cardboard, with the mackies logon on it. On the top there is a little shiny cardboard lid. If you peel this back you will reveal a very rich colour of smoothie ice in a purple shade to show the blackcurrant flavour. It smelled quite plain, with a mild fruity scent. I couldnt wait to try them!

Taste:
When I first tried this, I was quite impressed! It had a very strong fruity blackcurrant flavour, not too dissimilar from ribena. It was quite cold, as expected, on the teeth but after I had sucked on it for quite a bit it began to soften and was easier to eat. The only downside about this was when it began to melt too much and dripped over my clothes. Unfortunately now I have a pink t-shirt with dark red stains on it!

Nutrition:
I hadnt expected these to be too healthy as ice lollies never tend to be! So when I checed the nutrtion information on the bag of the cardboard box, I was pleasantly surprised! Each smoothie bar, which is quite long, has just over 50 calories. I couldnt believe it! That is definitely well worth it!

I paid £1 for this box, which is just 33p a smoothie! Now, how often can you go into a corner shop and ask for an ice lolly for that price?! They were definitely worth the taste and the price! Now if I had to choose between these or real smoothies, I would honestly prefer these! Theyre incredibly refreshing and very tasty! Theyre a bit messy though so theyre not too practical! On a hot summers day though when you can make as much mess as needed in the garden, theyre ideal!
