I'm a big hot chocolate drinker, never having been much of a fan of tea, and hating the taste of coffee. When everyone else has a 'cuppa' I tend to go for the chocolate version!

I'm also a big fan of Maltesers - I love the way they melt in your mouth!

So, when I saw the new Maltesers Hot Chocolate, I was over the moon!

The item really stands out from the other hot chocolates on the shelf, mstly because it's shaped like a giant Malteser! It has the same distinctive colours as the sweets, and is quite pleasing on the eye.

The hot chocolate itself is made by mixing multiple spoonfuls of the powder with hot water. I added a little cold milk to the drink too, to cool it down enough to drink.

I thought the powder mixed well with the water, there were no horrible powdery lumps left! And it gave off a lovely smell when the water was first poured in!

The drink itself was satisfactory, fairly smooth and creamy, and definately filling. I wasn't overly impressed with it, and it certainly didn't taste anything like the Maltesers sweets!

Overall, a fairly average hot chocolate drink, definately drinkable, but not really worth paying the extra money for the brand name.
