If you thought 5.6 or 6.0% abv was strong for beer, think again: Owd Roger comes in at 7.6%, which is as strong as a good scrumpy cider. So the apparently high price of £1.99 for a half-litre bottle works out at more alcohol per p than most bottled beers! Definitely NOT a case of "one for the road"! This one's not bottle conditioned, but does not have an excessive amount of artificial fizz. The appearance is dark, though not as dark as stout. The flavour is moderately strong, quite full-bodied, rather sweet and also fairly bitter.
