Oyster Stout? A stout made with oysters? Fear not, this stout isn't made with oysters, but is designed to be drunk with oysters. I know it sounds strange, but believe me, it is the most wonderfully different and refreshing beer you could have dreamt of, without being a complete novelty that you only try once. Made by Martsons, the great brewers who bring us Pedigree, this stout comes in a decidedly nautically thememed bottle. Being 4.5% volume and sold in 500ml bottles, this unusual drink is difficult to find in some supermarkets - I tend to buy it in the local off-licence instead. Bottled stout: everyone knows Guinness. Lovers of stout will also know of Beamish and Murphy's. But who has heard of Marston's Oyster Stout? There seem to be very few outlets where it can be bought. I can't remember where I first came across it, but I bought a bottle to try and was so pleased with it that I went back to at least six different off licences and supermarkets where I might possibly have bought it - drawing a blank in every one. It must have been on special offer somewhere, and not one of their usual stock lines.
