Martini Rosso ... the only type of vermouth in existence during the 19th century. A more highly perfumed and livelier personality than Bianco, Rosso is characterised by the discernible presence of herbs. Traditional caramel gives it its amber-brown colour, and the very bitter qualities of absinthe distinguish Rosso from the other cinnamon-spiced vermouths.

It's fun to have at parties as a long drink with lots of ice, bit of lemonade and a stirer and it's also a low fat alcohol if you're watching your weight a bit. I prefer rosso to ordinary martini as it's got more taste to it, it's a bit more fruity and fresh than blanco. To me it's the perfect drink for those long hot summer evenings but it's also great for those warm winter nights by the fire. The first time i had martini was at a family party, i drank it with lemonade and loved it. It's not particularly strong if you drink it with lemonade so it's great for those who don't drink much but it tastes so nice. My friends just drinks it neat like wine but it's a bit strong like that for my liking. It's fun to have at parties as a long drink with lots of ice, bit of lemonade and a stirer and it's also a low fat alcohol if you're watching your weight a bit.
