The back label says this alcoholic drink is free from artificial colours, flavours and sweeteners although it does contain sulphites to preserve the liquid's freshness. The fizzy cider is almost clear in colour unlike some of the sweeter ciders I drink; but it is also a lot higher than Woodpecker for example which is only 3.5% alcohol compared to Merry Down's 7.5% volume - and you can tell the different in the strength of the taste! I was bought this recently on offer in Sainsbury's for £2.22 for a huge 1 litre bottle when we were away at a Festival down south. This seemed a really good price for such an amount and the silver labels looked very posh with 'Merry Down Vintage 2008 Dry Cider' on the front. This was a glass bottle too which we recycled afterwards, with a metal screw on lid. I was surprised to see it had not been reviewed yet on Dooyoo as it's an old company which has been fermenting this unique Sussex recipe since 1946 using champagne yeast and selected eating apples.
