Midori

Newest Review: ... drink - won't get you completely smashed at the start of an evening. Not only does Midori look awesome (the green bottle is ... more

Also it has a slightly syrupy consistency, so when you mix with it, it makes little swirls in the glass. :) My only criticism is that it's a bit on the sickly side, so I wouldn't drink it all night (especially not with the lemonade)! Gives you a bit of a sugar headache after a while. And I probably wouldn't drink it straight, it'd be like drinking Slush Puppie without the ice. In addit...more

Premium Review Midori: summery and sweet (218 words)

I'm not a big drinker and was even less so a few years back when I was introduced to Midori. When I do drink, I'm attracted to sweet spirits, so one of my friends insisted on buying me a Midori & lemonade. To this day it's one of my favourite cocktails as it's fun and easy to drink - won't get you completely smashed at the start of an evening. Not only does Midori look awesome (the green bottle is pretty recognisable even at the other end of a darkened bar) but it tastes of melon (which is one of my personal favourite flavours). Also it has a slightly syrupy consistency, so when you mix with it, it makes little swirls in the glass. :) My only criticism is ...  Read the complete review

I would normally not have anything like this in the house because really it isn't my scene at all. My son and his girlfriend like a wee drink off a Saturday night and have for the last few months been searching and experimenting with different liqueurs and cocktails. Hence the sudden availability and subsequent sampling. There's nothing too different from the bottle Midori comes in to that of any other Liqueur. It has a slightly dimpled effect on the bottom half and the labelling is nothing to write home about, being a simple circular green label with MIDORI in bold white writing. Midori is one off these drinks that probably fall into the category ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Midori: Get your Melons Out (1773 words)
by - written on 18/03/01 (Very useful, 1578 readings)
Rating:

Midori in my experience is one of those drinks that you don't hear a lot about. I've been nuts about all things melon for as long as I can remember though, so it was always going to appeal! When I heard there was such a thing as a melon liqueur the next time I was out it was the first thing that I ordered. Midori comes in a frosted glass squarish bottle with the bright green liquid shining through. It looked very interesting indeed. That night I tried it with lemonade and to be honest I was a little disappointed, it was really quite bland and not as flavoursome as other drinks I like such as Malibu, Archers, Amaretto and Gin. Over the years I have drank it much ...  Read the complete review
