Advantages: Tastes nice at first but sickly after a while...

Disadvantages: Got caffeine in it and nearly 200 calories a tin!

My mum and her best friend and I went to the new Sonisphere Festival for the weekend two weeks ago and it was awesome!!

Some of the biggest names on Metal played at this Rock gig and they were fab, including my all-time fav group Linkin Park!

Sponsored by Monster Energy Juice I was given a can in a Founder Members Club pre-festival on the Friday and I really liked it... (:

My 500 ml carbonated can was flavoured with Taurine, L-Carnitine and Ginseng as well as sugars, sweeteners and B vitamins and called Ripper. The idea of these energy drinks is to give people a buzz with the 'The Juice is Loose...' as the makers use as their tagline.

I think these are not the best as a diluted juice drink with 48.5% fruit concentrate as they also contain 0.03% caffeine, although it did taste nice and seems to appeal to people of my age!

Containing passion fruit, apple and pineapple with guava puree too there is a long list of ingredients along with a warning of not being recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women or people sensitive to caffeine.

Really high in calories due to the high sugar content not good to for teeth either, as there's nearly 200 calories in a tin (my mum counts calories so always makes me look)!

I liked the sweet flavour although it did taste a bit sickly afterwards, and I don't think drinking too many would be good for you. I don't know what the price is as I got it for free, a lot of these types of drinks are really over priced so I think I would only buy this brand if it was on offer. I didn't notice any difference in my behaviour or an unnatural buzz either, and I think the vitamins are put in to make a bad for you drink seem better somehow?

I will be interested to see if this latest craze for these types of pops lasts as I get older too! (:

Summary: I would drink this again but don't think it's that good for me ;(
