Advantages: keeps you awake

Disadvantages: taste

I only recently came across monster energy this summer this was due to working a lot of festivals and due to them as a company sponsoring various festivals.
I was working the night shifts and therefore drank a lot of energy drinks to keep me awake whilst on shift. The main energy drink we were drinking was called Monster.

Monster comes in 500ml cans, the cans look good as they are black with green writing on them, this suits the theme well and stands out. There is also a Lo-carb version, this looks the same but is black and blue instead, therefore it is easy to see the difference.
Per 500ml can there is 160 milligrams of caffeine content, the recommended daily allowance is 300mg, therefore after 2 cans, this will have be exceeded, so be careful!
I should also mention that energy drinks should not be consumed too regularly as they are bad for your teeth and also are high in calories. Monster itself has over 200 calories per can and this will add up.

The taste of monster is similar to those of red bull and relentless, however I feel that it tastes a lot sweeter and I get bored of it quicker. By the end of working all these festivals, I felt sick thinking about drinking any. I much prefer red bull. However, a lot of people do like the taste of Monster more, each to their own.

I have only seen Monster being sold in one place so far in the UK and that is in Asda, priced at roughly £1.20, it is not the cheapest energy drink out there. I'm sure as it becomes more well known it will be sold in more supermarkets, but for now, it is still very much an American product.

Summary: not too bad
