... from a cheap own brand soft drink, the ingredients list (which I am not going to bother listing) is made up largely of chemicals whose names are harder to pronounce than maybe food and drink substances should be. Upon opening the drink, I was greeted with a good hissing of escaping gas, a sure sign that this drink would be nice and fizzy unlike a lot of cheap soft drinks which are disappointingly flat from the moment you open them. As I poured a glass I smelt that quite distinctive (albeit man-made) smell of most dand...more

Premium Review Morrisons Dandelion&Burdock (No Added Sugar) Pop: A chemical version of a nice natural drink (627 words)

As my girlfriend and I were doing our weekly shopping in our local Morrisons, we wandered down the soft drinks aisle and decided to treat ourselves as we don't often have soft drinks. We decided to have a 2 litre bottle each, I went for the Dandelion and Burdock while my girlfriend went for Cream Soda. My first experience of Dandelion and Burdock was years ago when my brother and I used to spend time round with my grand parents during the school holidays while mum was at work. My Nan had bought a bottle from the milkman, who at the time had just started selling things other than milk. When I first tried it, I didn't really know what to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review It's nice, but what on earth is dandelion and burdock?! (266 words)

Having just done an absolute mammoth shop in Morrisons, and purchasing some lovely Dandelion & Burdock, I once again found myself drawn to the laptop to tell you all about it. Being a pepsi max girl myself, it was actually my husband that put this into our shopping basket, but after having a quick swig of his and then deciding I actually needed my own FULL glass, its seems I may have turned to the dark side. Ok, their both dark, but it sounded fairly dramatic. The pop tastes fruity with an almost Vimto taste, nice and refreshing. The other fab reason to drink this stuff is that their is only 5 calories for each 250ml serving - granted it's not ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Morrisons Dandelion&Burdock (No Added Sugar) Pop: Not bad, but could be better! (407 words)

In Morrisons recently I bought a 2 litre bottle of their own brand Dandelion & Burdock, of the no added sugar variety as I'm currently dieting. I am not a fan of supermarket fizzy drinks, much preferring the big brand bottles of pop as I find the flavours are generally better but this time I thought I'd give Morrisons a chance as the bottle was attractive and the fact that this contains just 5 calories per 250ml meant it was worth a try. Opening the bottle I was a little irritated by the huge fizz as I do not really like overly fizzy drinks, this sounds very loud and I was glad the bubbles soon went down although this does go flat a bit too quickly in my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A pop that never bust me bubble! (659 words)

When it comes to pop I'm a real guzzler! I guess in many ways I just haven't really grown up (shame on me I am 34 after-all lol). I get through so much of the stuff that my Mum, in an effort to slow me down quite often buys me shops own branded pop which as long as it isn't a Coca Cola substitute or lemonade I'm usually fine with. It has to be said I do appreciate interesting flavours. I'm not an appleade or orangeade kind of girl and much prefer mixed fruit carbonated drinks or iron brew and the likes so when I saw my Mum had got me this I was well pleased! The Packaging.... 2 litre standard clear plastic bottle with white plastic screw ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Morrisons Dandelion&Burdock (No Added Sugar) Pop: What the hell is Dandelion and Burdock? (718 words)

Working opposite a Morrison's garage for 5 days a week, often means that Morrison's is the closest shop to get a drink from, which has seen me recently buying their home brand drinks, they come in 3 flavours "Keg Shandy", "Lemonade" and "Dandelion and Burdock". The latter two coming in both a regular version and a sugar free variant, and are all priced rather well at 34p for a 500ml bottle. This compares well to the branded alternatives available like 7-Up and Sprite (both typical lemonades) as well as Fanta, Dr Pepper and Coca-Cola variants. The Lemonade and the Dandelion and burdock both come in clear bottles (whilst the Keg ...  Read the complete review
