When it comes to pop I'm a real guzzler! I guess in many ways I just haven't really grown up (shame on me I am 34 after-all lol). I get through so much of the stuff that my Mum, in an effort to slow me down quite often buys me shops own branded pop which as long as it isn't a Coca Cola substitute or lemonade I'm usually fine with.

It has to be said I do appreciate interesting flavours. I'm not an appleade or orangeade kind of girl and much prefer mixed fruit carbonated drinks or iron brew and the likes so when I saw my Mum had got me this I was well pleased!

The Packaging....

2 litre standard clear plastic bottle with white plastic screw on/off plastic lid/cap to the top. The label on the front (round it's middle) is lilac and has light yellow strips and on that I'm told it's Morrisons Dandelion@Burdock and that it has no added sugar and no artificial colours or flavours. There is a photograph of some of the pop in a glass and on that I'm told the size, that it is suitable for vegetarians and there is an at a glance nutritional chart. On the back once again I'm told what it is, ingredients, nutritional information how to store and serve the drink information is all given along with contact details for Morrisons, size once again being stated and a bar-code being shown. It's a nice enough bottle and not too economy looking but it isn't one you'd pick up by mistake thinking it was a more known brand or anything like that.

The 'Pop'.... Aka Carbonated Drink lol

Well the flavour is dandelion and burdock and as you'd expect if your familiar with this flavour it's so dark brown in colour it could almost be black. When first opened it is very carbonated (so fizzy) although it loses it's fizz almost upon opening the bottle and it turns into almost a thickish juice. Morrisons say to consume this within 3 days of opening but me I think the bottle needs to be drank asap.

Taste wise it's very sweet although Morrisons say no added sugar. This sweetness does taste natural enough but does leave an aftertaste. The taste of dandelion and burdock is hard to describe of course. To me the taste is quite aniseed (though not quite so harsh) and although nice enough in flavour I wouldn't describe this as particularly refreshing due to the said after-taste which in the long run makes me thirsty as hell!

When you first drink it and it's bubbly it has to be said it is more refreshing but when it's lost that freshness the drink feels heavier and more laden with sugar and has too much body to it for me. Although it can't be called a bloating drink of course so if you don't like fizz you could well like this but then why buy it lol!

Overall....

It's ok. It doesn't scream cheap and in my view is best drank quick so if you have children that mug all the pop in the house great.... they'll love it and even more so if they have a sweet tooth and this isn't so bad for them as after-all is it sugar free! Don't leave it hanging about in a glass above a few minutes and drink the bottle asap and it's not a bad purchase. Otherwise it's like drinking really flat juice and me, I don't like that! lol
