Advantages: Cheap and tastes the same as Dr. Pepper

Disadvantages: Easy to miss on the shelves and unhealthy (not that it matters!)

Dr. Pop is a "carbonated fruit flavour soft drink" from Morrison's. It's basically their own brand version of Dr. Pepper but it's much cheaper. It's 77p for 2 litres whereas Dr. Pepper costs about 65p just for a small bottle!

It has a red label and looks a bit like cola so it's quite easy to miss on the shelf. I was delighted to find it! It says it's best served chilled and to consume within 3 days of opening. I agree that it definitely tastes better from the fridge than warm! My bottle has been open for about 3 days now and it's still quite fizzy.

It's suitable for vegetarians but has the allergy warning that it contains gluten and sulphite.

The bottle gave a good fizz when I first opened it and it looks and smells like Dr. Pepper although it doesn't really have much of a smell. It's very sweet and fizzy as you'd expect.

I don't have any Dr. Pepper for a direct comparison but it does taste very close to the real thing. If I didn't know it was an own brand I'd probably be fooled. There's a certain 'something' missing but I can't quite say what, maybe the aftertaste is a bit different? Or maybe my mind is just telling me it's not the same because I know it's not!

If you or your kids love Dr. Pepper but don't want to pay the ridiculous price then definitely give Dr. Pop a try. I've found it also goes well with a splash of vodka!

Ingredients:
Carbonated water, sugar, natural flavourings (contains caffeine), barley malt extract, phosphoric acid, preservative (potassium sorbate), acidity regulator (sodium citrate) and latic acid.

As a huge Dr Pepper fan I can confirm there is almost no difference in taste between the 2, this is just as nice if served VERY cold.

I love Dr Pepper, never realised that there was an own brand version around. Will definitely have to try this! x

That sounds good, especially at that price as well :) I like the idea of adding some vodka lol.
