**Introduction**

I remember having Mountain Dew for the first time when I was at Secondary School and tried a bit of my friends drink to see what it was like. Recently there was a new drink in the Mountain Dew range. This new drink is called Mountain Dew Energy and it is a competitor of the more established energy drinks from Red Bull and Lucozade and the like. Mountain Dew are from the Pepsi Co brand and was released in the U.K. in June, 2010.

**Mountain Dew Energy**

The drink is available in 500ml bottles and as of February 2011 it expanded to 440ml cans. The drink is available in both sugar free and normal. The drink is very popular indeed in the United States where it also has several other flavours available. Over here in the United Kingdom I have just seen this one available. The drink has a higher level of caffeine than many other soft drinks and was designed to give you a boost of energy. I have seen this drink widely available on offers in all the major supermarkets and newsagents. The taste of the drink is kind of a Citrus Lemon and Lime. It's a refreshing pick me up when cold and gives you an energy boost. The drink contains 18mg of Caffeine in every 100ml. As a result of the caffeine content this drink is not suitable for young Children, pregnant women or those who are sensitive to caffeine.

**Overall**

I would recommend this drink to anyone who likes to have an energy drink now and again and someone who has an active lifestyle or if you're playing Sport now and again. The combination of the nice taste and energy boost make this an excellent competitor to many of the other energy drinks out there. I will continue to buy this drink now and again. Now it's summer I'm sure it will be drunk quite a lot especially on days like today where it's nice and hot. So overall an excellent drink. I would like to see the other flavours come over to the United Kingdom although you can get them on some American Food and Drink sites.
