This is one of the flavours available in the extensive Naked smoothie range. This one I'm reviewing is the Blue Machine and another one that is widely stocked is the Green Machine and another I have seen is the Red Machine however there are several more in the range including juices too. The Blue Machine contains a blend of blueberries, blackberries, apples and bananas.

I usually purchase this as part of the £3.29 Boots meal deal as it is priced at £2.50 and with the Prawn Noodle Salad I choose, £2.80 and slice of carrot cake, £1.10 I pick up a huge bargain which is easy to pick up during my lunch break. I've noticed that is also available from Waitrose and Starbucks and probably many other shops too.

There is no added sugar or preservatives and only fruit is used to to have the sweet natural flavouring. The smoothie is a good source of fibre and contains several B, C and E vitamins most of which nearly fulfill your Recommended Daily Allowance, in particular Vitamin B12 which helps keep your nervous system healthy. Also, the main fruit (blueberries) ensures the smoothie provides lots of antioxidants. This drink does however contain 243 calories which is quite a lot for a drink.

The bottle is 450ml which is rather large for a smoothie and almost double the 250ml Innocent smoothies. Before drinking you are advised to shake well because separation is natural. The juice is very sweet and not as thick as the Innocent smoothies. The blended fruit doesn't contain any 'bits' and it is very smooth but still contains lots of fibre. I'm not particularly partial to this flavour because of its sickly sweetness. The Green Machine is also not a great flavour for me.

I do like to buy this drink though because of the nutritional benefits. It is quite expensive to buy separately. However, I'd give it a try because you may like the flavour.
