The former darling of Dooyoo looked down into the bottom of her glass. It was a soporific state of affairs that had led to this. Jill cast a glance at her partner in crime as she took another slug of her Nastro Azzurro. The Italian themed bar was virtually empty casting an ignominious gloom on the rebellious pair. Who would have thought that the Community Guide on Banking could have been led so seriously astray as this? Seemingly idyllic marriages one minute, a trail blaze of feminist angst the next. Sue had never considered herself impressionable but had succumbed to her accomplice’s clarion call to break free from their day to day shackles and ... Read the complete review

I couldn't believe it when I did some digging and found out that this lager is the second most prevalent in Europe - maybe us British haven't yet discovered this oasis or maybe we have better taste !! Nastro Azzurro is brewed at the Peroni Brewery - of which there are two in Rome and Naples, Italy. Giovanni Peroni was the founder in Rome in 1846 and the first drink he produced was Peroni Birra which was made from Italy's finest hops. Italy isn't well known for it's beer and it's people prefer Wine to Beer so it's testament to Giovanni that the Peroni brand grew to be the largest in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. The original ... Read the complete review

"A pint of your cheapest and nastiest falling over liquid please, Guvnor". Is that your opening gambit when out for a night on the pi$$ - or are you one of the 'in' crowd who will drink whatever your mates say is the 'in' designer beer this week? Well, please allow me a few minutes of your time to introduce a name you may have heard of, but never tried. Pray silence for ...NASTRO AZZURRO, an Italian 'Premium' beer. But, how valuable is the tag 'premium'? We all know the excellence in brewing lager across the Atlantic with the likes of household name brands Budweiser and Miller Lite, plus those ... A few years ago I visited a small Italian restaurant in Winchester. It was the occasion of a family birthday, but I don’t remember it too well. The reason? It was my first encounter with Nastro Azzurro (Peroni). This was an encounter that involved emptying a number of bottles of the stuff and staggering out of the restaurant a little worse for wear. (Alright! Alright! Very worse for wear.) Let me state here and now. ‘I AM NOT A LAGER LOUT’. In fact, I don’t particularly go in for lager. To me a decent pint of bitter is normally preferable. It is not that I do not like lager it is just that I do not find it particularly ... Read the complete review

I'm a big fan of these newer bottled lagers that fill the shelves of your local Tesco's these days. Previously my favourites have been the Japanese Asahi and Mexican Corona ( although only with a lime because its very harsh with out it). I'm pleased to report that Peroni is up there with the best. The first thing you will notice is the crisp ultra-refreshing taste because it hits you like a smack in the face. when it touches your throat you will feel like you have wasted the last 5 years of your life drinking carling, fosters et al. haha maybe a bit of exaggeration but the taste is superb, it feels like your drinking alcoholic water from a Tuscany mountain spring. this ...
