Advantages: A good cup of Nescafe coffee
Disadvantages: none
Coffee shops are a great way of idling away an hour or so and one of the first stops that we make when we go shopping is the Cafe.
If you are a seasoned coffee or teashop visitor then you too will have noticed the wide variety on offer in these establishments.
No longer do we get offered a simple cup of coffee or a pot of tea, we have to choose from a long list of weird and wonderful concoctions.
The latte and the cappuccino are my favourites, i`m afraid I like mine hot and frothy.
I saw these individual sachets of Nescafe Cappuccino in Morrison`s a couple of months ago, an ideal treat for my friend when she came for her weekly coffee and gossip.
There were four varieties to choose from, Original, Unsweetened, skinny and Decaffeinated.
I knew Liz had been trying to cut back on the calories so I chose the unsweetened sachets, it would do me good to have less sugar too.
Ten x 16g sachets cost me £2.26, I have since noticed that Sainsbury`s have them on offer at the moment at 2 boxes for £3, a good saving.
The outer packaging in undeniably Nescafe! no one could mistake that logo and design.
Each sachet has enough powder to fill a mug and a mugful has just 74 calories which is brilliant...as long as the taste isn't compromised.
The process is really simple, boil the kettle and empty the contents of a sachet into a mug, top up with almost boiling water and stir well, the whitener in the coffee provides a good frothy head and then you are left to sweeten the coffee to your personal taste. The box also contains a packet of Chocco topping, so you sprinkle some on top of your mug of steaming cappuccino to give it the authentic appearance.
The mug of coffee smells exactly as it should, the rich opulent Nescafe aroma. A white frothy head makes it a perfect drink, I loved the chocco topping, very different.
The drink stays hot for a long time, when you have milky coffee it often cools quickly because of the milk being added, but this coffee is whitened with powder so it stays hotter longer.
Liz and I agreed that it is a fine mug of coffee, in fact if anything Nescafe have enhanced the flavour rather than compromised themselves.
On our regular treks around the local supermarkets we have noticed that Nescafe have introduced a Cafe Irish Cream and a Double Choca Mocha in the same range, so when we have finished the first lot up we are going to try the Irish Cream sachets.
Nescafe...you have done us proud.
Summary: A fine cup of Nescafe with a twist.
