** This review is for the "Skinny" variety of Nescafe Cappuccino **

I'm not really a coffee snob I must admit, normal Nescafe coffee does me fine and I do confess to the occasional trip to Costa Coffee and Starbucks to pay over the odds for a hot cappuccino or latte. So today in Tesco I noticed this box and bought them to give them a try instead of just having regular coffee at home.

The box for the most part is identical to the one shown on Dooyoo, however because this is the "Skinny" variety I am told that there is "less than half the fat" than in a standard Nescafe cappuccino so that cant be a bad thing. Noticing the nutritional information I am informed that 1 serving (1x16g sachet) will provide me with:

52 kcals
3.3g protein
7.9g carbohydrates
4.7g of which sugars
0.8g fat
0.6g of which saturates
2.1g fibre
0.1g sodium
0.1g salt equivalent
0.5g Antioxidants

Who'd have thought it? Just in 1 sachet of dried cappuccino. Anyway, the instructions state that you should add the contents of the sachet to a mug, add 200ml of hot (not boiling) water and stir well. You are provided with a little shaker containing chocolate powder so you are able to add this to the top of your drink to suit your own requirements, then just sit back and enjoy the drink.

So how did it taste? I was impressed with the colour and amount of froth the stirring generated, the cappuccino turned out to be a very rich brown colour with plenty of milky froth on the top, tasting it I was reminded of the more expensive varities I have when in town at a coffee shop and was impressed overall. There was no bitter taste, infact I would say the flavour was quite sweet and it was certainly warming and comforting.

After I had finished the mug I was reassured to see that there was no bits or clumps at the bottom, I had obviously stirred it sufficiently but would certainly recommend that you do give it a good stir yourselves as, rather like packet soup it probably would have the tendancy to stick at the bottom.

At £2.40 for a box containing 10 sachets I found them to be good value for money, working out at only 24p per sachet and now that I have had one I would definitely have another. Real coffee lovers may be disappointed in them though as they are made from instant coffee (Nescafe) but for me I was pleasantly surprised.

The ingredients reveal that the sachets are made up from Skimmed milk powder, Instant coffee, Inulin, Dried glucose syrup, Glucose syrup, Lactose, Vegetable oil, Milk protein, Stabiliser (Disodium phosphate) and allergen sufferers are warned that the product may contain traces of milk.

As I have not tried the full fat variety I cant compare the taste between the Skinny and full, but as I normally have the regular variety anyway at coffee houses I couldnt taste that much difference anyway and at least with this choice you are not taking in as much saturated fat so thats got to be a good thing.

To conclude then; for me I enjoyed the taste of Nescafe Skinny Cappuccino and would definitely recommend you try them out, I found it to be a nice change from regular instant coffee and is a warm, comforting drink to have on a cold night. Its not going to be to everyones taste especially if you dont like instant coffee, but for me I would give it 4/5 Dooyoo stars losing a point simply because of the price, had I had the option to spend less to get fewer sachets I would have done, that way if I didn't like it I wouldn't have quite so many remaining.

The product can be found on the coffee/tea aisle in the major supermarkets and at Tesco costs £2.40 for a box containing 10 sachets.

Summary: thanks for reading
