Advantages: tastes lovely, not a bad price
Disadvantages: none
I am a keen drinker of coffee, especially first thing in the morning to give me a bit of a kick start. I've drank cappucino at cafe's and the occasional one in restaurants but never really wanted to fork out to get a coffee machine, so went without at home. I saw these in ASDA by the normal coffee and after reading the box, saw that I didn't need a coffee machine and could just use my kettle so thought I would give them a try.
I am a fan of nescafe anyway and usually buy their normal coffee so when I saw this, I already had high expectations as their normal coffee is lovely and my favourite. This is fairly expensive really. A 160g box that makes 10 coffeees is £2.40 and a 500g tin which is on offer for £7.00, £8.50 full price. Ther bigger tin makes 40 cups. It sounds like quite a lot to pay for coffee, but when you think of how many cappucinos you've paid £1.80 or more for, you realise that buying this is so much cheaper.
After taking the lid off the tin, the coffee is a dirty white and brown colour, a very fine powder unlike normal coffee. It doesn't smell very nice at all, it smells like an out of date cake to me. Inside the tin is a little blue scoop that has about two tea spoons capacity in which makes the coffee making easier.
These are the directions on the back of the tin that also have pictures:
1) 1 level scoop for a cup, 1 heaped scoop for a mug.
2) Fill with hot, but not boiling water, stirring all the time.
3)Enjoy your deliciously frothy cappucino!
When I had poured the coffee, it smelt heavenly! It smelled like the coffee that you would buy from starbucks for quadtriple the price. There was about three centimetres of froth on the top that was nice and thick and creamy tasting and I really enjoyed eating/drinking that part, it was lovely. The cofee itself had a lovely aroma that smelt really appetising. It has a really thick and creamy taste, very nice and very similar to ones I have paid more for in shops. I ended up putting a sweetner in mine because it wasn't sweet enough for me, but it's better to have the choice than be sweet then people can choose rather than having to have a sweet coffee.

I really enjoyed this coffee and have got about half a tin left to ravish. I would definitely recommend this coffee to others, I definitely think that it is worth the money and will be buying it again in the future, it's lovely!
Summary: A lovely coffee that ill definitely buy again

- 02/07/09 Isn't it strange that gorgeous smelling coffee disappoints the taste buds and yet the N.cappucino offended the nose but pleased the mouth. |
