Advantages: quick, convenient, tasty
Disadvantages: pricey, small amount, heavy
Nescafe have brought out a new product, not actually a new invention, the size of a can of coke. Its a can of coffee. This idea was first used in war times both with drinks and small meals. The can is quite heavy but doesn't contain as much liquid as you would be lead to believe. I suppose it would be the size of a small cup full but I didn't empty it out. I will next time. You can choose if you want sugar or not, although mine without sugar was still quite sweet to what I normally have. Milk is included. It tasted just like coffee but as I said without sugar was rather sweet for me. Some may think it is quite a game to get the coffee warm but it only takes 3 minutes and if you're thirsty thats not too long to wait. What do you do? The instructions are quite simple. 1) Turn can upside down and firmly press button to break foil. 2) Shake can from side to side until all red liquid disappears. 3) Turn can up right way and wait 3 minutes then it is ready for use. The outside of the can feels just warm but doesn't burn your hands. I have tried two of these, one became very warm and the other only just warm. It is an expensive way of buying coffee but if you really need a drink and in an emergency then this sort of canister is ideal. It would be an idea to maybe keep one or two in your car or in your office locker just for that occasion when you need a refreshing drink or something to warm you up. If you were to break down in your car or delayed through snow then this would be ideal. I can see other foods like soup going for this type of can drink and would be very acceptable. I'll leave it for you to try it. About £1.40 per can or cheaper

- 19/11/01 It's bizarre, isn't it! I have had a couple. My only moan is that the can is really thick so you don't get much coffee! |
