Advantages: Widely available?
Disadvantages: Taste, price
I have been drinking Nescafe as my general every day coffee for years, both at home and at work as it is stocked in our vending machines. Until recently when Kenco brought out the Eco Refill packs and they went on offer in Supermarkets and I switched to the Red Kenco to save money. I cant believe I have wasted years of drinking Nescafe Original paying money for something which I now realise is so bland!
The coffee is one of the best selling coffees in the UK, and the Nescafe brand is widely recognised. The coffee granules are quite chunky and very dark brown in colour. As it is an instant coffee they are very crumbly, and at the end of the jar you inevitably get quite a bit of dust. This is fine to use to make your cup of coffee and tastes no different. Nescafe original comes in 100g, 200g and 300g jars and comes in a 500g tub too (I believe they make bigger sizes for catering events, offices, etc). For a 100g jar you are looking at paying about £2 unless the coffee is on offer. Coffee is expensive, but I quite often see this reduced, on 2 for... or 3 for 2 deals, and you can generally pick it up in Home Bargains, Poundland, etc. Nescafe is made from a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans, and is classed as a medium-dark roast with a full flavour. The coffee is made from 100% natural coffee beans.

Official manufacturer rating of strength of flavour: Intensity - 7
As coffee is good for you and rich in natural antioxidants, a couple of cups can improve your stamina for exercise and your brain power (concentration and alertness), coffee is a loved and relied up on hot drink choice. According to the Nescafe website, sensible people should choose to drink 4-5 cups per day maximum to remain within a decent limit of caffeine intake.
My opinion of Nescafe original is that when you first put it to your lips to taste it, it has a really intense smell which I think tricks your brain in to thinking you are tasting something nice. When you really taste it, run it around your mouth and compare it to other everyday coffees, you will realise that the taste isnt that good, it is no where near an intensity in flavour of 7, I would say more a 3 or 4 and it is in fact quite bland. It is also pretty expensive for the lack in flavour. I would recommend trying out some other brands, and if you do want to stick with the Nescafe flavour, then supermarkets own brands are on par, and you can pick these up much cheaper.
Summary: A poor excuse for a cuppa coffee :( 0/10 for me
