Advantages: Really does go bubbly.

Disadvantages: Quite high in sugars.

As many of you now I have always been a big fan of anything chocolate, so when on holiday and buying all the "bits" for the caravan that we stay in, I saw these and knew that I had to have a box to take with us.

The product I will now review is - "Aero, instant bubbly hot chocolate"

The one I will now be reviewing is the bog standard chocolate one, I have never really been a fan of "flavoured" chocolate drinks, so the mint one doesn't really appeal.

The box is a lovely brown colour, covered with pictures of bubbles, and a made up mug of the chocolate drink, sorry should have mentioned that these are mug sized sachets, don't do small in my house! (Don't be rude! Lol).

Each sachet in the box, (and there are four in total), hold 24g of the chocolate drink powder, you simply tear off the top, tip into a mug and add 200ml of hot, but not boiling water and stir.

This is where my favourite bit comes into play, and the part where I always make a dreadful mess, on the counter, good god I don't get that excited!

I tend to over fill mugs when drink making, they look fine until anyone tries to pick them up then the drink goes everywhere, I always do the same with these too, big mistake!.

You should fill your mug around ¾ full then stir, what happens is the water activates something in the powder which makes the bubbly effect, once the bubbles appear the froth on the top of the drink doubles in size, thus filling the mug, trust me I speak from experience!

I tend to eat the froth with a spoon, I do this with all froth topped drinks, cappuccino's being another. The froth itself is thick and you can actually taste the bubbles, a very unusual and fun sensation. The taste is delicious, though not overly chocolate, with some drinks I find I have to add twice the recommended amount of powder to get that chocolaty taste, this I don't!

The drink is rich and satisfying, and not in the slightest watery or weak. You do still get a small amount of grittiness at the bottom of the drink but I always find that with most hot chocolate drinks.

The nutritional information is as follows -
Per sachet (made up with 200ml of water),
99 kcal,
16.6g carbohydrates,
14.4g of which sugars,
2.7g fat,
2.5 of which saturates.

These were bought from Asda for the price of 99p, this was on offer at the time, so they are available around the £1.20 mark now, but also come in jar form too!

This one tasted a lot nicer than the mint flavour but I didn't find the 'bubbly' sensation that nice in liquid form.

I found it a bit too rich, but then I am used to drinking Options.

I was a little sceptical about bubbly hot chocolate, but it sounds worth a try!
