I bought Nestle's Coffee Mate Original about a month ago in Sainsbury's. I use it regularly but today is the day when I have enough time to write a review about it. I wanted to bake Hokkaido milk-loaf and I needed some milk powder in it. I was wondering which brand to choose, but as I trust Nestle products I decided to buy this one. At the end of my review I will share the recipe of this wonderful milk-loaf. Unfortunately I have no photos, but next time I bake it I will make some photos and I'll enclose. So back to this great product, I tried it in coffee as well. It has very nice texture. Some of the milk powders collect moisture from the air and become ... Read the complete review

The Packaging ************ Nestles Coffee mate usually comes in a tub or barrel shaped container. There is a picture of a cup of steaming hot coffee on the front and the steam is rising creating a heart shape that contains the Nestle trade name. The colour of the container is a caramel colour slowly fading into a lighter coffee color as it goes up the container. The lid is plastic and under the lid is a foil seal to keep the contents fresh. At the moment they are selling this with a 33% extra free. The Contents ************ Coffee mate is a coffee whitening powder that can be used instead of milk. It is made up of a mixture of Glucose, ... Read the complete review

I remember being caught short for milk at work some years ago and reluctantly agreed to use some of a colleague's Coffee Mate, the premium UK brand of coffee whitener. I was very pleasantly surprised. Coffee Mate is a powder that acts as a substitute for milk in hot drinks, most specifically coffee. It is probably not advisable to use this in tea. This product comes in gold coloured cardboard packaging that is somewhere between tube shaped and barrel shaped. To quote it's own packaging Coffee Mate is made from "a blend of glucose syrup and vegetable oil". There are also all manner of stabilisers and emulsifiers in there (not great I ... How many times have you been caught out? The milk is running low and there's no time to nip out to the shops and then the doorbell rings, this is when a jar of Nestle Coffeemate is worth its weight in gold. I used to keep some of those individual pots of coffee cream in for the unexpected but to be honest Coffeemate is a far better proposition. Nestle have more than one Coffeemate to offer us nowadays, there is the ordinary version, the virtually fat free type , Coffeemate original and Coffeemate Latte Creations Vanilla. I had never even heard of the last one on the list! But it is a whitening agent with sugar and vanilla flavouring that you add to your coffee ... Read the complete review

I have been using this stuff for many years now, as a reserve emergency supply of dried milk, and also as a practical means of taking milk when I am away driving, liquid milk is so easy to spill, you need to be careful of it going off, not available in small containers etc. Coffee-Mate is a white powder, which is so easily dissolved in coffee, giving it a lovely creamy taste. The taste is designed to be a perfect accompaniment to coffee, hence the name Coffee Compliment! . It is fairly cheap at a Pound for the 200 gramme size. This is produced by Nestles of course, who have quite a reputation, and their products of good quality. I have been to ... Read the complete review
