Advantages: No mixing required, easy for younger children to use.

Disadvantages: Not enough flavour for the amount of milk

When we received our shopping from Tesco the other week there were a few individually packed magic straws that had found their way into the shopping.

I am a massive fan of strawberry flavoured milk and when I saw these were strawberry flavoured I decided to check them out and let you know what I thought.

*~*~*What is the Magic Straw?*~*~*

A straw filled with chocolate of strawberry flavoured powder that flavours a glass of milk without changing the colour.
The taste of Nestle is definately there if you have had the powdered version and is not one of my favourite milkshake mixes out there.

I filled an average glass with milk I owuld say about just under half a pint to use the straw with and as I sipped the straw the flavoured beads came to the top of the straw providing the Nestle milkshake flavour.
It is recommended that you use the straw with 250 ml of milk so I was using a bit too much but I am glad I did as it was a very overpowering and powdery taste at times.
The taste is definately strawberry but it is not as ready mixed shakes are and has put me off having them again as if you take a big sip you can get a real powder taste in the back of your throat.

I have seen these advertised and that a pack of 10 comes in at £1.85, I do think that this is quite expensive especially if you have quite a few kids and the flavours are limited which is a bit of a disappointment but it is a relatively new product on the market.

I'm not sure exactly how good these are for children when it comes to e numbers and sugar levels although it is a good way of getting kids to drink milk.

In my opinion I would not purchase these as they are not worth the money ready mixed milkshakes are cheaper from shops such as Yazoo as even I found these a little difficult to get the flavour out.

Summary: Convenient, strong flavour but not the best option out there,

I was thinking of adding a pack to a parcel I'm putting together for my niece and nephew's birthday but I don't think I will bother, it never looked particularly appetising to me and the price put me off more than anything, even as a novelty.

My kids munch these as snacks, but won't have them with milk...

Hi...Okay review, but it would really work with a more detailed description of the taste. To me that's what a food & drink review is about.
