Advantages: Great fun for kids, reasonable price

Disadvantages: A bit too sickly

As a child I went through all the major cereals available and many times I remember having Nesquik for breakfast.
Founded in the late 1940s in the US Nesquik was originally a milk flavouring mix that has spawned lots of tie in products since then, the latest being it's 'Magic Straws' range.

The straws come in packs of either 4 or 10 and are not bad for the price. A pack of 10 for instant will usually cost about a couple of quid and it's a fun way to get your children drinking milk.
The straws come in a simple packaging not dissimilar to a packet of sweets with the individual straws in separate wrappers attached to one another inside.

The straws come in two flavours - chocolate and strawberry and the tagline of the product is that 'each straw magically transforms milk into a tasty Nesquik milkshake'. Whilst I think the tagline is a bit of an over statement my friend's daughter loves the product and its been a lot easier to make her drink milk if she can watch the beads whizzing up the straw. Each straw is basically full of flavoured beads which is placed into plain milk and releases the flavour when slurped. I found it quite difficult to get any of the milk up at first and whilst the taste of chocolate was nice, it wasn't particulary strong and tasted a little sickly. The strawberry one was even worse.

But whatever my opinion most of the kids I know love the 'magic' involved in the product and it's a really good, harmless marketing tool for the kids and at not a too shabby price it's worth giving them a try as they're easy to use and don't create any extra mess.
