Advantages: Good price, tasty, health benefits, you can add as much as you want for a full taste sensation!
Disadvantages: Doesn't always mix too easily into the milk
Think chocolate milk...think mmmm Nesquik! This product was first developed in the US by Nestle in 1948 but is very popular in the UK to buy ready-made or as a powder. This review is for the chocolate flavour powder that you add to your milk.
... Price ...
For £1.53 (Tesco) you get 300g of powder which comes in a neat yellow tub. You recognise Nesquik by the famous bunny which embossed on the top and printed on the front. Because only 3 teaspoons are required to be added to your milk it's good value for money and will last you quite a while, which works out cheaper than buying it ready-made.
... Product General ...
To make your chocolate could not be simpler. Just pour yourself a glass of milk, add 2-3 teaspoons of the powder and stir well. It can be quite hard to get all of the powder to mix well into the milk so try to spoon it in lump-free and but some energy into the stirring. If you get tired of chocolate milk, I find it makes great milkshakes (pour milk into a blender, add a few scoops of ice-cream and a few spoons of Nesquik and wizz up).
Kids will loooove this, and adults too (speaking for myself, but I'm sure I'm not the only one, you know who you are!).
Although it's chocolate flavour, drinking chocolate milk actually has its health benefits! If you're buying this for your children it's a great way to get them to slurp up milk which is packed full of calcium and nutrients. Nesquik has no artificial colours, preservatives or sweeteners and is also fortified with vitamins. In addition, to add this to 200ml of semi-skimmed milk will only total 150 kcal and 3.8g fat (most of which is from the milk).
... Happy Bunny? ...
Yes, I am a happy bunny! I like milk on it's own anyway, but adding this gives it a smooth chocolate flavour. It's not too sweet or sickly, and you can vary how much flavour you want by adding more, or less, chocolate powder. It's healthy, tasty, well-priced and fun :) I'm giving this 4/5 stars but only because, like I've said, it can be hard sometimes you get all of the powder well mixed in when you're adding it to milk & stirring with a spoon. It would work better to put it in a blender, but using a spoon is so much easier and quicker (and I'm lazy!). I definitely recommend you give it a try if you haven't already, and if you have a blender treat yourself to a chocolate milkshake..yummy!
Summary: Makes delicious chocolate milk & milkshakes in seconds!
