Advantages: Very Tasty, Cheap, For all the family
Disadvantages: None
Nesquik is amilk shake powder that was first created just after the second world war in the US. Like many other things, it did not take too long before it moved over to the UK. So by the 1950's most people were familiar with it. During the 1950's and 1960's it was extremely popular as there was not the range of drinks available, as there is today. A lot of teenagers also drank this because, unlike today, they did not think it was clever going to Off Licences and buying alcohol, and it was not unusual to go and ask for a 'shake' at the bar.
Over the years Milkshakes have gone in and out of fashion, but they are still available to buy on most supermarket shelves. The most popular is Nesquik. The 300g of Nesquik Strawberry I am reviewing cost me £1.63 from Tesco but I have since noticed they are on offer for 2 flavours at a mere £2. They also sell 500g.
The Nesquik milkshake comes in a yellow tub, with a picture of Quiky, the Nesquik Bunny Macot. He is seen with a glass of Strawberry Milkshake. Quite apt really bearing in mind it is Strawberry Milkshake he is advertising.
The Experience
Initially when you open the tub, you will be met by a a foil lid (I think, because mine is now half empty, it no longer has it). Upon opening this you are met by a distinctive smell of strawberry and you can see the powder. The suggestion is to add 3 teaspoons to a glass of milk. May I make a suggestion here. Add your powder first. This way you will not be left with a wet spoon, which in turn when you go back for your next spoonful will leave milk in the tub. Not hygenic and it makes all the powder go solid. Once you have added you the milk (I usually use skimmed and very cold). It needs a good stir. Once stirred it can be drunk. Very nice it is too. I give it to the children also, usually with a couple of straws to make it look that bit better. You can easily taste the strawberry, and smaell it too.
