 ... brewed, as a one off, for Peterborough Beer Festival. It was brewed in honour of Bill Westwood ~ who was retiring as Bishop of Peterborough. Oakham wanted to thank him for his backing of the Real Ale scene and for his support for Peterborough's festival. The Beer was an instant success amongst beer drinkers and was soon added to the permanent list of Oakham ales. Just before Christmas I got to try a beer again, down in my local Wetherspoons (the Portland Hotel in Chesterfield), that I hadn't had in a while. I love beers from the brewery that produces it (my review of JHB illustrates this) and I was anxious to get a pint or two in to see if it was as good as I remembered. Thankfully I needn't have worried ~ the Oakham Ales Bishops Farewell was on excellent form! Then, funnily enough, we went along to the Sheaf View (a great Real Ale pub just outside Sheffield) and there it was again! ~~~THE BREWERY.
