Advantages: Refreshing with an excellent taste
Disadvantages: Expensive. Not very rehydrating
Until recently i had never even had a sip of Oasis, despite the knowledge of the name being around for at least a couple of years. I think the main thing that put me off all this time was the price tag, which varies from shop to shop, but constantly at around £1.00 i always felt there were plenty of other cheaper and probably more tasty options.
That was until i found myself in a corner shop on a hot day, desperate for some thirst quenching flavour. I looked for my usual favourites but could not see them. I checked my wallet, and without really giving it much thought, picked up a bottle of Citrus Punch Oasis and paid £1.05.
To say i was pleasantly suprised is an understatement. I took a few sips and couldn't stop myself, but at the same time i tried to make it last as long as possible because i was enjoying the taste so much. It's an excellent mixture of sweetness and tangyness but feels so refreshing and tastes very strongly like an orangey/lemoney/limey flavour. Citrus, you might say. It's a still drink so doesn't make you feel bloated and it actually gave me a new burst of energy after i drank it all.
The bottles come in 500ml sizes and for you health concious people, it contains 0.0g of salt, saturates and fat, 45kcal calories and 10.3g of sugar, which i think comes through on the taste, but it's not such a bad thing.
I must say after a while, my mouth is usually left quite dry and i feel like i need some water or some rehydrating. But this is a small niggle when drinking a drink with a taste like this. I've also gone on to find some shops who sell the drink for around 80-90p.
Overall I would fully recommend this drink to anyone who likes a burst of sweet citrus taste in a drink. And probably people that don't.
Summary: Brilliant taste, just about worth the price

- 07/06/09 I find this one a little syrupy but do like their Summer Fruits one. |
