Advantages: Tastes great and plays a part in preventing water infections
Disadvantages: Cap can splash when closing.
I first started to drink this cranberry juice when I was much younger and kept suffering from numerous water infections. Someone recommended to my mum that she should encourage me to drink this, as the antioxidant properties of cranberries are a natural way to help try and prevent this kind of infection.
Drinking lots of water also helps to flush your system through and guard against infections, however I for one can't stand the taste of water! This is a brilliant alternative. Any woman who has ever suffered from a water infection will know that it's extremely uncomfortable, not to mention the complications it can have if it spreads to your kidneys!
Drinking this definitely works for me, and as long as I continue to drink a glass of this every day or so it keeps me nice and healthy in that department!
I am not usually one for fruit juices, give me a cup of tea any day, but there is just something about this juice!
I always find this is best served chilled, and upon pouring it out of the carton you notice the colour, a rich, deep red. The taste is initially sweet with a sharp, dry aftertaste which puts some people off, I however love sharp, sour tastes so this juice is great for me. My mum however can't stand the stuff, each to their own I suppose! I have tried other brands over the years however nothing even comes close to the rich, crisp taste of this.
Ocean spray also make a squash version which you dilute with water, however I don't find this is strong enough to help prevent infection and doesn't taste nearly as nice, it's just like a watered down version of the carton and doesn't have that crispness to it.
My only problem is that due to the plastic flip catch opening, you sometimes get a few drops of splashback when closing the carton, so you have to be extra careful not to splash your clothes when doing this.
For a fruit juice this is on the more expensive scale, (currently 90p for a 1 litre carton on Asda, but there are always multibuy offers to be had) so if you are purely drinking this for something to drink perhaps it's best as an occasional treat, for me however it's worth the money to be pain free and not have to keep visiting the doctors!
Summary: Worth the money to stay healthy
