As many people will know I have rather bad health. I have been drinking far too much alcohol recently with everything wrong with me and so I have stopped drinking altogether for the time being and so I went out and stocked up on a variety of soft juices, waters etc.
Just to clarify the one that I am reviewing is called Cranberry Coast and the packaging is a little different however I am not sure but this may be the new name for the original flavour as the nutritional information is the same as that one!
This drink comes in a white box with a plastic flip top style opening to the top of it then both the front and on the back of the box are the same and on there I am told of course that it is Ocean Spray 'Cranberry Coast', Cranberry Juice Drink and there is a picture shown of cranberries and then on the sides of the carton information such as the ingredients and nutritional information is given, the size stated which in this case is 1 Litres and contact details for thee manufacturer are given. Nice enough box this is and once opened you should keep it in the refrigerator and it should last 4 days (which is what I did and it was fine!).
The juice is thin and a pinkish/red but transparent in colour. Not much smell is apparent from this one apart from get up close to it and have a big sniff and of course this one doesn't need to be diluted as it comes ready to serve.
This is really best served cool/cold in my opinion and it does taste lightly of cranberries. Not in a big way as I expected but its a light juice drink this one, nicely sweetened and it tastes like a natural sugar within it and it really isn't heavy in flavour but light and refreshing.
With only 92 calories per 200ml serving and no fat at all (not even a trace) I think that this is great to drink alone or to mix with alcohol if you want to though as I stated earlier this is best served cold, warm it really isn't very pleasant at all.
Overall I really do like this fresh tasting drink. It tastes natural and although sweet it isn't overly so and I find with this one it doesn't leave any real after taste after drinking it.
Available from all good supermarkets etc, I paid 80p for my carton though I have looked about online and the price is usually a pound a box which I do think is worth paying!

I don't know if this is psychological but I honestly cannot function without a glass of cranberry juice everyday. I have tried various brands such as the supermarkets own or cheaper brands, but I can safely say that this one is my favourite. It is the priciest out of the lot but I certainly get more enjoyment out of it.
Compared to other brands, this one is a little less sweet. It is quite dry and takes some getting used to and I would say it is an acquired taste. This is not just this product but cranberry juice in general, just this one is a little less dilute and it is stronger in flavour.
Personally I don't have this straight out of the carton. I tend to dilute 50/50 with water to avoid that dry mouth feeling but it will still give me the same sugar boost and health benefits.
I also drink cranberry juice to prevent urinary infections. I am one of those poor people who gets them reoccurring and they sometimes I cannot function for weeks on end. Basically this stuff has stopped all that and I rarely have them now. I only get them when I do not drink enough cranberry juice or fluid in general which I think is amazing. I know a lot of research is being done on it and I think it has been shown that a factor in cranberry juice prevents urinary tract infection causing bacteria to not stick to the urinary tract and therefore prevent infection. When there is no real cure for these infections (apart from antibiotics but they make you feel as rough as anything) then I would definitely prescribe this to help because for me and I know many others, it really does work.
Not just for that benefit but it also counts as one of your 5 a day and has antioxidants, vitamin C etc all of which are great for you.
I wouldn't recommend drinking tonnes of the stuff though as it's high in sugar and therefore calories. So one glass a day is good.
I would recommend Ocean Spray as it is my favourite one out of all the ones I've tried. On the whole quite simply, it is of better quality and has a nicer flavour.
Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice.
