Advantages: Read the headline , that says it all lol
Disadvantages: Some would think the sugar rush it gives you!
I am a massive fan of all things ginger!
I love Cilla Black and Bradley off Eastenders, adore ginger perfume from lush (now discontinued) and always overdose on it when i grate it into a stir fry but most of all I love Desnoes & Geddes Old Jamaican Ginger Beer.
Yes i know I shouldn't really be drinking carbonated soft drinks, and yes I know its full of sugar and it bloats me out but look I don't drink, I don't swear I have hardly any vices at all, I'm near on perfect lmao
I first found this in my local Nisa shop at 39p a tin.
(Mine is a tin and not as shown on this photo).
Cos I drink a lot of ginger pop, well pop in general I always buy cheap stuff that has no kick and I don't enjoy it its just habit.
So the first time I drank this it nearly blew my head off!
A little info on Ginger....
Between the 1930's and 1960's, Jamaica was listed as one of the three largest producers of ginger in the world, along with India and Sierra Leone.
A 10-mile radius around Christiana was identified as the region which grew the finest ginger in the world. Ginger is thought to have been introduced into Jamaica about 1525.
Prior to 1740, the ginger was associated with the Parish of St Ann, where it had first been planted by the Spanish.
After that the Christiana region took over when it was recognised that the soil and climatic conditions were especially suitable for the growing of ginger.
In 1980, a survey by the International Trade Centre reported that 1,100 acres of ginger were planted in Jamaica in the central range areas of Clarendon, Manchester and Trelawny.
What is Ginger good for?...
Ginger is used in medicine to treat stomach aches, nausea, diarrhea, sickness, cold and flu, and used in dietary supplements.
Ginger is used to alleviate post surgery sickness as well as sickness caused by motion, chemotherapy, and pregnancy.
Ginger has been used arthritis, osteoarthritis, and joint and muscle pain.
(As well as other things).
I'm not suggesting for a moment this can will do any of the above it is not a medicine but it does contain Ginger root, so you never know eh!
The Packaging....
I've seen a couple of different designed cans around but they are the same drink!
Simply a can with a ring pull silver lid.
Both very similar so I'll describe my can as I have it in front of me.
Its a 330ml aluminium can in beige with diagonal red lines on it.
Lists best before date on the base of a can.
Nothing special at all, it wouldn't jump off the shelf and say buy me.
Its sold chilled where ever I've seen it and does say on the can best served chilled and I wholeheartedly agree with that, it's just not nice warm!
Ingredients....
Carbonated water, Sugar, Ginger root extract and other flavourings, Citric acid, preservative (sodium benozate) stabiliser (quillala extra).
Nutritional Information....

What I think....
Its sunshine in a can I can hear the steel drums in the background starting up and I wanna dance!
Everything about it is amazing, if you like ginger beer you'll adore it.
Its gingery and its fiery, it hits the back of your throat in an unoffensive way!
Tingles and bubbles on the tongue for ages.
It smells as good as it tastes, its just delicious!
Its quite thick and sugary and I feel really enlivened after drinking a can if not a little hypo active! Maybe not one to give to the kids lol
My final words...
As far as I'm concerned there's no better on the market and I do try every Ginger beer i come across!
Very strong flavoured, very syrupy sweet its not for everyone but at 39p a can its worth a try eh!
Summary: Delish
