Yummy (Old Jamaica Ginger Beer)
Member Name: jesperado
Advantages: Spicy and a lovely kick Disadvantages: Very sweet Old Jamaica Ginger Beer is one of my absolute favourites both as a ginger beer and as a soft drink in general. I tend to buy six packs of the 330ml cans which look quite different from the picture above. The cans are a light beige colour with red diagonal stripes and golden palm trees along the bottom. The 'Old Jamaica' font looks quite pirate-y which makes me think of Pirates of the Caribbean every time I drink it! I think 330ml is just the right size for this drink as I always end up leaving some for later when I buy a 500ml bottle. The drink itself is quite sweet and syrup with a strong ginger flavour. It's fizziness is intensified by the kick of the ginger. And it does have quite a strong drinks unlike other disappointing ginger beers which have the flavour but not the spiciness. The sweetness of this drink makes me suspect it probably has quite a lot of sugar or sweeteners but I don't really care, I like it too much to worry about my teeth falling out! Summary: If you like ginger, try this! |
