Advantages: Complex, full-bodied in the mouth, with a peppery bite.

Disadvantages: Perhaps too raw and feisty when you're feeling mellow.

This bourbon has been a favorite of mine for going on 30 years. It is my understanding that only 500 barrels of this 10 Year Old Bourbon are produced a year, and each bottle is hand-numbered (Notice the number just above the name on the label). The Old Rip Van Winkle line of products are among the finest in the world. The 10 Year Old 107 Proof Bourbon should be enjoyed with just a couple drops of water added or with an ice cube or two. Don't overdo the amount of water! Only a very little will open up this bourbon and introduce delightful new levels of flavor and aroma.
With different ages and proofs and processes, Kentucky bourbons have different characters, and certain bourbons seem to be well-suited to certain moods and settings. The Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Old 107 Proof Bourbon begs for a time when you're feeling feisty! This bourbon is a powerhouse!
