Not for me but I will try the other ones

Today at work my friend offered me one of her options chocolate drinks as I had run out of my usual hot chocolate and it was literally freezing at work! She had brought a few of the sachets in to try and so decided to share with me! Yay!

The sachet was one of the options Belgian chocolate ranges in the hazelnut variety. The pack is an individual 11 gram serving of the powder which is enough to make one hot drink. She bought four of the sachets for one pound which I think is reasonable and allows you to try some varieties to find out if you like them.

The packet is a small plastic pack with a warm chocolate colouring. The pack has a little quote on which says "after cracking open the bubbly his hazelnut eyes looked warm and inviting" This leads me believe that this product is aimed at females!

The pack also tells us that this drink has just 39 calories when made with water. As a rule I usually add a dash of milk and sometimes a little sugar too when I have a hot chocolate drink and so of course I am adding calories in this way.

When I made this drink I poured the sachet in to my cup and then added a little hot boiled water. I then mixed them together into a thick paste before adding the rest of the hot water and a dash of milk. I find this way you can eliminate any clumps of powder that may not mix well. The chocolate drink looked frothy and appealing and had a strong hazelnut scent which is something I could only liken to cookies!

When I tasted the drink I have to say I didn't know if I liked it or not. The hazelnut taste was very apparent and it was also much sweeter than any other hot chocolate drink I would normally have. As I continued to drink the drink my taste buds must have adjusted to the taste as I did finish it. I can't say that I particularly enjoyed the drink though-however; I would be interested in trying some of the other varieties as I think it was the strong hazelnut flavour that really put me off.

These drinks are usually widely available in supermarkets and so if you are interested in trying this you will be able to pick it up quite easily. The hazelnut was not to my taste but it may be to yours!

Thank you for reading my review!

I won't be trying this flavour again

Hot chocolate is the perfect drink for the colder months, and nothing beats a good mug of the stuff while curled up with a good book and some comfort food.

These are the low calories versions of the instant hot chocolate available. However that is not the reason I bought this. I thought the flavour sounded pretty nice, and I thought it'd make a change from my usual hot chocolate fare.

You can get individuel sachets, or buy a larger tub. The sachets are about 22p each or 5 for a pound in some stores. The larger tubs are £2.34 for 220g, so work out at better value.

When you open the sachet you are greeted with a chocolate aroma, with a hint of hazle nut, quite pleasent; the smell remains quite nice once made up, too. However, upon tasting this drink, I was slightly disappointed. The chocolate taste was medi-core, and I found the hazlenut taste to be a little artificial. The drink overall was a bit too watery for my liking. I know that this could be expected of low calorie drinks, however I have had the orange one of these and loved it.

I won't be buying this flavour again, however I haven't given up on this brand completely. It's drinkable, but not something I would drink by choice.
