Advantages: Tastes great, and you can try before you 'commit'
Disadvantages: -
I'm always on the look out for nice chocolate based treats, and if there aren't too many calories involved, well that's all the better. This goes for drinks as well as food.
A couple of weeks ago when I was perusing the shelves of my local supermarket I spotted these little Options hot chocolate drinks at only 40 calories per drink, and only 25 pence each (or 3 for £0.69 at Tesco currently).
I've made the mistake of buying a big container of hot chocolatey drinks before, only to find out that they don't taste good and they just gather dust in the cupboard. This is what attracted me to these sachets, the chance to try out different flavours before commiting for a big container if anything really appeals. A clever idea (for them to make money, and for us to try to save on waste) from Options.
So how does it actually taste?
Well, so far I have tried out the White Chocolate, the Vanilla, and the Toffee flavours. I'd say that I really liked all three. I felt there was good flavour for all of them, each actually tasting like the flavours they claimed to be. I plan to try our a couple more flavours soon (Belgian Chocolate, Coffee, Mint, Orange and Hazelnut flavours are also available).
The only other point I'd make is, that after you add your hot water to the powder you do have to stir it for a good while before the powder is completely dissolved into the drink. I found giving the drink a stir, then leaving it for a minute or two, then giving it another good stir usually did the trick.
At 40 calories, it's practically a health drink, enjoy!
Summary: Top hot drinks, that won't make you fat!
