I am a great fan of Options Hot Chocolate, but there are a few certain rules to follow when drinking them. Options do a great range of flavours, and they also cover dietary requirements to a certain extent as well, with many of their products being gluten free, so therefore suitable for coeliacs.

If you buy Options in the large plastic jar, then it is easy to portion out how much powder you want to put in, and invariably, you need to put in a decent amount to make the flavour strong enough, and this is the problem with the sachets. I personally find that the sachets don't have enough powder in them to make a full mug taste strong enough. Don't get me wrong, I think the flavour is heavenly, so matter which one you have, but it probably only gives you about half a mug of decent strength hot choc.

The Belgian Choc flavour shown in the picture is a nice one, and you could probably get away with this amount of powder in it for this flavour, but any of their varieties with flavours other than chocolate such as the mint or orange ones lose their appeal and flavour with this small amount of powder.

On the plus side, the calorific bonus is quite good, offering a mere 33 calories per sachet, but then, if you follow my guidelines and have twice the amount, you end up with 66 calories per serving, and you've had to fork out for 2 sachets to do the trick.

My advice is to dispense with the sachets, although they can be handy if you want to take them to work. The best bet is to get the full tub of whichever flavour takes your fancy, that way you can regulate the amount of powder you put in yourself.
