Advantages: Most of the flavours are great and they're gluten free!
Disadvantages: Not all flavours really work
Options Hot Chocolate Mini Sachets provide enough hot chocolate for one cup of drink. There are 11 grams of powder in each sachet.
In order to make these drinks, simply boil the kettle, put the sachet into a cup and add boiling water. Simple.
There is a variety of flavours available in these little sachets including belgian chocolate, double chocolate, chocolate and orange, mint chocolate, toffee, vanilla, white chocolate, coconut, turkish delight and hazelnut.
Belgian chocolate - The powder smells really chocolatey and makes you want to eat it, although that probably isnt advisable. When added to water, the drink is a good consistency, not too thick or thin. It tastes reasonably chocolatey but isnt overpowering which is nice.
Double chocolate - This one also smells really chocolatey, being double chocolate. Again, the consistency is nice, although it is a little thicker than the belgian chocolate variety but tastes alright. I would say I prefer the belgian chocolate one out of the two though.
Chocolate and orange - This one smelled rather like a Terry's Chocolate Orange when I opened it which was quite nice. The chocolate smell was a little stronger than the orange one though. It's quite a refreshing drink, although I personally think it could do with a little more orange, although my friends and family have said they prefer it as it is so maybe it's just me with that one?
Mint chocolate - This had quite a strong smell of mint, rather like mint and chocolate icecream has. It tasted rather similar too which I liked. It was really a smooth drink which went down well.
Toffee - This sachet smelled of toffee and I thought it would be quite nice but unfortunately, it was rather weak and bland and didnt really taste a great deal of toffee. I suppose it was a nice drink but the toffee flavouring definately needs to be increased.
Vanilla - This one had a strong vanilla smell as well and tasted very nice. It's probably one of my favorite flavours out of them all because it's really smooth and nice tasting.
White chocolate - This powder actually smelled quite a lot like milk and when you add water, it ends up tasting more like weak, watery milk. Not a nice taste, in my opinion.
Coconut - I really disliked both the smell and flavour of this one - It just didnt seem right to me. If you like coconut though, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Turkish Delight - Unfortunately, I've not been able to find this one to try it so I cant give you any information. It sounds good though!
Hazelnut - Again, I havent been able to get hold of this one so I dont know what it's like.
The price for these sachets is very reasonable, costing approximately 25p per packet and this is pretty reasonable for a warm drink in the evenings! They are currently 5 for £1 in Tesco which is even more of an advantage!
Summary: Mostly great drinks for a low price!

- 09/06/09 The Turkish Delight one is nice, but my favourite is the Chocolate Orange drink. |
